Good as a display, but setting up is hard and no backlight control
For the price, the screen and case are nice. If you want to see what's on your Raspberry Pi without having to hook up to an HDMI monitor, then this screen works great. The whole unit looks nice with the case. The colors are vibrant and the touch functionality works great.Setting up is a pain, but that seems to be the case with many of these little screens. I recommend NOT following the official instructions, which ask you to blindly run a script as root, but to understand what the script does and apply the changes manually. I ended up writing a guide on how to do so.I don't know if many other screens support this, but this screen definitely doesn't allow you to turn off the backlight, which is a shame. I wanted to use the screen for a quick weather + clock display, which I was hoping to keep turned off until I touched the screen. No luck.If you mainly want to use this screen for active use (you don't keep your Pi on all the time), and you're comfortable with Linux, then this is a good screen. But if you want to keep your Pi on all the time, you'll probably want to do some more research.

Great mini magic mirror
Added it to my Rpi 3 A+ to make a mini magic mirror. Instructions on the Wiki page are clear to get the screen working.

NOT FOR BEGINNERS!! NOT PLUG AND PLAY!
I just use my pi systems for retropie. I use the usb method to add games to it, as the technical side of pi usage such as ssh and using the shell, I'm lost, and little I fond on the net helped. I assumed the product was basically plug and play, and any drivers were for touchscreen. After over an hour of trying to learn how to make it work, I'm just giving up on it. I wish the description said you needed to go through a bunch of hoops to get it to work.

Nice price, works, wish the backlight was controllable
It is a nice "all in one" package of case, heat sinks, and screen (with touch pen). The screen resolution is limited but what do you expect for a 3.5in LCD? It all fits together well and the software loaded without error. I am running it on a RPi 3B+ and it works well.I do wish there was a software way to turn off the backlighting. Got the screen to blank after 2 minutes of inactivity but the backlight stays on. If you can live with that, this is a deal.Running the software package to enable the LCD disables the hdmi port, forewarned is forearmed. I would also recommend installing "matchbox-keyboard" before you install the LCD package!Got this for a internet project (remote systems to exercise various servers/services) so with this plus the RPi, I can send three home with others AND they can get it on their networks without messing with external monitors, keyboards, etc.Got it in two days, was easy to physically install. Instructions for loading software page was simple. It worked the first time. If you have the "right project" for this, hard to beat the price.

The touchscreen is horrible
Don't bother, it might be cheap, but the screen is CHEAP, the screen barely updates, the colors are messed up, the touchscreen isn't a real touchscreen, its a pressure sensitive one and its NOT accurate. but the case was nice, it felt solid. it was a bit hard to setup, especially with setting up the drivers (you wont be able to connect to a monitor/tv at full resolution) the heatsink is nice, honestly if you just need a touchscreen for something like tracking your pc's temperature its fine, but if you actually want to use it (for things such as gaming) PLEASE buy something better!

Never got it to work with Touch UI
I tried multiple times, reformatting and reinstalling Raspbian OS with Octo Print and Touch UI.Nothing I did would get it to work for Touch UI but if I loaded in a Desktop environment it worked fine. I could launch chromium browser and then steer it to Octoprint but I would have to do that every time, plus loading in the Desktop OS takes a lot of resources and memory and is counter productive.

Not hard to get working great value
Screen is really not that difficult to get working in one go. After reading the reviews I was abit afraid. If you start from scratch with a fresh image of the latest Raspberry Pi OS. Use the Raspberry Pi Imager software to enable SSH and setup your accounts WiFi etc before you burn the image so you can easily remote in with SSH and install the driver. Follow the command line instructions the vendor provides for downloading the driver. My problem is the case the main bezel piece arrived broken so that sucked. But the case is not easily assembled. The fit seems off for numerous reasons with my Pi 3. I managed to get it all assembled and it’s okay but the case could be better. Lack of backlight control is annoying but not a deal breaker for what I need.

Garbage. No backlight control.
So first I am not sure why half of these reviews are for an egg rack. Get your stuff together, Amazon! As for the RPI screen - it was easy to get working, but has one fatal flaw.. the backlight can apparently NEVER be turned off. Other displays have software control to at least save power, but this thing is on all the time and there’s apparently nothing you can do. Was going to get a few more, but this is a dealbreaker.
