Doesn't Deter Geese from Eating the Grass
I live in a retirement community in SC's low country. We have water retention ponds throughout the community with fountains to prevent algae buildup, but all those water sources attract countless geese.Even with my Sheltie chasing them back into the water, they are not deterred from returning. The geese eat our grass and poop everywhere. This year they are especially bad, and I've counted up to fifty two on my small back yard at one time.Taking my dog out to relieve himself is like walking through a minefield of geese poop. So I purchased Bird X Bird Stop liquid and mixed the recommended twelve ounces per gallon and sprayed my backyard that abuts the pond.It didn't work, as the geese had to be chased away repeatedly. I did a second application after having rain, and that too failed to deter the geese. Today, June 8, 2025, I covered the lawn heavily with product, and while I was cleaning up the pump sprayer that I used, the geese were eating the grass even though the product was still wet. After three failures to work, I decided I needed to write a review to warn other consumers. In my experience this product does not work at all, and if anything it seems like caviar to the geese, because they ate the grass while the milky substance was still wet on the blades of grass.Clearly, the supposed terrible taste isn't terrible to geese. Waste of money!

Seems to work on Woodpeckers
Will update in a few months. I'd feel better if it was legal to shoot woodpeckers but it's not. Sprayed this high up in the trees and on the house. And now it is so quiet! Now I only hear the voices in my head, "Leave California".

Does not work and a waste of money.
This product did not work at all. I used it on top of my awning, where my awning mounts up under the eves of my house due to birds building nests there. I mixed the product just as it said for use on structures. I sprayed way more than should be needed inadvance of the birds starting to build nests. When I notices the birds starting to congregate on my awning, I sprayed another coat and another coat; however, as I type I have nests with chirping baby birds under the owning. This was a complete WASTE of money and my time. Not to mention the humiliation from partner about this product not working, especially for the cost of it. A COMPLETE failure. Do NOT waste your time and money on this product. Move on to something else. Does not work like it says it will.

It does work
I mixed the product for turf and sprayed in on my lake front lawn. The geese came in and I allowed them to eat their fill. They began to avoid my lawn and slowly focused on the neighbors on each side of us.After a rain, the geese came back with a vengeance. So it will wash away.Next application after the rain subsided and evaporated resulted in the geese avoiding my lawn like the plague. They congregated on each side of us and stayed out of our yard 100%. For the next application, I'm thinking of adding a small amount of caster oil in hopes it may be more rain resistant. We love living on the water but the geese situation needs to be resolved by significantly increasing the number harvested by the duck/goose hunters. Its really getting ridiculous.

Did not work at all
Not only did the targeted birds keep coming back but all of the songbirds were playing everywhere that I sprayed. I think that they liked the smell. This product did not work for me. And it's not inexpensive either.

Doesn't seem to stop barn swallows
I sprayed this on under my deck, where swallow love to nest. Got rid of all the old nests as directed. Within a week one was building a nest. In my lean-to I sprayed it everywhere, and they are still trying to nest there. The stuff leaves a white residue, so you wouldn't want to spray it on anything visible. It may work for other birds, but hasn't helped deter barn swallows at my place.
