Square Stand (2nd generation, USB-C)

Took it out the box, attached my ipad, switched it on, logged in and it worked.Very easy to set upery easy to use

Slow to load and if you use Square, the processing fees are higher than others.

Easy to add iPad. Does what it says on the box!

I ordered this to use at shows and events in conjunction with the hand held terminal machine so there was a POS system with some redundancy.one arrival I was shocked to see that this Gen 2 model was not USB-C. what Square didnt make clear on thier website was that they make two version and that the USB-C version wasnt actually available at the time of ordering. I got this during prime day so there was a substantial discount.I have since purchased directly from Square the USB-C version at the higher £118 pricing. Square's customer service agreeing to refund the difference between the two purchases prior to me ordering the new one. once i placed the order they then changed the deal as I had purchased it in a sale.So I have decided to return both units and just use the hand held as it has the same features as the stand in any case - so just buy two terminals is my opinion.The device itself seems solid but a couple of points. it is not very stable and will require bolting down with the supplied bolt. All good if working on a wooden top but we use stailess steel catering tables that if we drill will allow a rust position to start as the coating of the steel will be compromised. More weight in teh base would help with this or a weighty dock you coudl add to the bottom could be a great add on optional part, but still then your equipment is vunerable to the opportunist thief.another thing to think about is your ipad. The vunerability of this not only while in the stand BUT also when you add it to the stand and take it way every night, you cant place your ipad in the stand in its case, which I understand is virtually impossible to cater for BUT everytime you take your ipad out and remove or place in the case you are at risk of dropping it at the wrong time. I'd rather buy a new handheld terminal than a new ipad evertime.So run your POS on your ipad when setting up your till system, as it is easier to view everything, but then use only the terminal as your sales point at the event as the POS system shows up on there really well.

Took 1 star off because the cable goes into the side of the base, and is also black not white matching the unit. Otherwise the unit works 100%, and easy to install and use
