Pop-Up walimex laptop tent 50x50x50 cm super black

I purchased the Walimex Pop-up laptop tent to keep my laptop dew free when using it for astrophotography. I have used it for several hours outside at night even with temperatures below freezing when heavy frost settles on everything including the Walimex, but my laptop works perfectly, frost and dew free. Its been a brilliant purchase which I strongly recommend.

My son initially wanted this for his lap top in the pitch side whilst doing sports photography. However we found it a little too large and unwieldy. For static use on a table I think it would be ok. There were no instructions on how to fold it back up and we worked it out eventually and it folds neatly into a bag.If it was slightly smaller and made of clear material it would have been ideal for us. We had a very specific need and it wouldn’t work for my son.So if I was doing astronomy in a field or something similar I would recommend it. It came with add on fabric “door” with Velcro attachments.

Was difficult to use and almost impossible to fold up after use.I did not find it much good for what I wanted it for which was sitting in the sun in the garden.

This product is just horrible, with nothing to recommend it at all.It comes in a small cloth bag, which I doubt would last long before fraying. The 'pop-up' element is absolutely lethal, causing it to literally 'pop' out of the cloth bag and fly across the room. When the 'tent' is opened up fully (which is much easier than collapsing it proved to be!), it is far too big and cumbersome to use the laptop installed inside it. There are no instructions at all included in the very high price for what is essentially some flexible wire framing and black felt. Even when we did get it collapsed - thanks to You Tube and a lot of brute force (which took an hour and 3 people) - it managed to hit two of us in the face as it 'popped' back to a size that made it fit into the bag. And I can't imagine that the inner wire and/or felt covering would stand much of that treatment before breaking.I sent it straight back to Amazon as soon as I could for a refund!

Great quality, works well, but the bottom lip is a little bit annoying on your wrist.

Although nothing wrong with the product once assembled - in fact it works fine, it is impossible to fold back up and thus defeats the whole point of being portable. It is one of those spring loaded frames that are easy to open up - just spring into life. Its a nightmare to close - imposssible. I wrote to the manufacturer TWICE asking for simple instructions - NO RESPONSE. Can';t fold it back as it came so can't get Amazon Refund either.
