Wonderful Dried Mushroms
So, I have to admit, this did take a bit to get the hang of. There are several dehydration time for the different mushrooms in the paxk. It arrives sealed inside a vacuum sealed outer bag. The smell us earthy goodness once opened. The taste is fabulous when added to different dishes. It is a great, economical way to get a variety, rather that buying each individual dried mushroom variety on its own. I will be buying more!

Good selection, and deceptively large amount for so little weight.
Are you a mushroom lover like me? If so this is a very nice pantry item for when fresh mushrooms are a trip to the store away, and you have time to soak them properly.2 things I learned from my first foray into dried mushrooms.1) The instructions say to soak them for at least 40 min. I found that insufficient. Overnight works well. We can probably be happy with a few hours but those experiments are ongoing.2) 5oz of dried mushrooms is a LOT. My first soaking was about half a bag which was enough for a pan of pasta sauce, a few mushroom omelets and some left over for snacking.I like them enough to be on my subscribe and save deliveries

Hi- why are you buying this?
I received this for free to review from the Vine program. I am an experienced wild mushroom hunter in the Pacific Northwest. I've been mushroom hunting for over a decade.I was a little concerned when I ordered this because it's a weird mix of mushrooms. Woodear mushrooms are best used in hot and sour soups or, my favorite, Vietnamese spring rolls. They don't make sense for flavor purposes because they really have no flavor at all. They're just little rubbery guys that make for excellent texture so it's strange to see them included here. Thats basically a lot of useless weight in your mushroom mix.The real bang for your buck in this mix would be the Porcini followed by shiitake, oyster, woodear and portabello.I only found one piece that I think is a porcini. The vast majority looks like a mix of oyster and portabello with some small shittake thrown in and a big pile of woodear at the bottom. As someone who got it free and knows what everything is-I'm pumped. If that's not you... find a reputable brand because this one doesn't even have a name and I'd be sketched out if I didn't know what I was doing. If you want to buy dried mushrooms you should buy one variety at a time otherwise you're gonna end up with a ton of filler and a much higher price per ounce.

Delicious and Economical
These taste great after soaking, and I was happily surprised to see how many mushrooms I got from a small handful of the dried mushrooms. Perfect for pasta and risotto.

Great blend of Mushrooms
I made a simple mushroom soup with this and it was really tasty. The package has some simple instructions on how to rehydrate the mushrooms. I will probably buy it again for the variety mushrooms it supplies. Worth every penny!
