Adding it to FindMy worked as easily as easily as adding an AirTag
I just read the one and two star reviews here and they fall into two buckets. Some say that the battery failed immediately or was DOA. That’s legit of course, but mine seems fine, although I just unboxed it. Others criticized it saying it was just a dumb device, but those just don’t understand the Apple FindMy system. I think this device is a brilliant design solving the thickness problem that putting an AirTag in your wallet presents.SwitchBot Wallet Finder card is a very thin credit card-sized AirTag alternative device that you can put in your wallet without creating a big bump.l intended to put an AirTag in my wallet using a carrier sleeve but immediately realized AirTag is way too thick to keep in a wallet, unless you don't mind a really thick wallet with a big bump in the middle. This card's form factor is perfect for a wallet. I just got mine, $18 on Amazon, though mine was on sale for a couple bucks off when I ordered it. It's the exact same dimensions as a credit card and not any thicker. It does not have rechargeable batteries but claims a three year battery life. I've read people saying that's unconscionable e-waste, but I do't think so. I don't see how they could have gotten this anywhere near as thin with replaceable batteries. An AirTag battery lasts a year, this is claimed to last three years. Considering how thin this is, is one of these more e-waste than three AirTag batteries? Hard to say.I was surprised and a bit taken aback by the instructions saying that you are supposed to download and register the company's SwitchBot app from the App Store or Play Store before adding the card to FindMy. But a review article on 9to5Mac says they didn't download the SwitchBot app at all, just added the Wallet Finder directly to FindMy, and that worked fine. That's what I decided to do, skipping the SwitchBot app entirely and just adding the card to FindMy. That process worked perfectly. and sending sound from FindMy instantly makes the card play a tune. Not super-loud but loud enough to find it hiding under some paperwork or clothes. The only reason I can see to download and register the SwitchBot app is the card has a QR code and the text, "scan me if found." If someone wanted to return your wallet via the QR code and you never registered the app, that wouldn't work. But maybe you wouldn't need to have the app running for that. Dunno.

Test results with iPhone SE (2nd Generation)
I have an iPhone SE (2nd Generation, Model Number A2296) running iOS 18.1.1. I linked it to my SwitchBot Wallet Finder using Apple’s Find My iPhone app. Setup took 10 minutes and was problem free. I am not a novice but no expert and this was my first use of Find My.I live in an 1891 wooden farm house. I put my wallet with the Wallet Finder in my basement laundry room, climbed the stairs to my second floor bedroom, and used Find My to find my wallet. Find My displayed an accurate map of my home’s location, and said my wallet was there and I was ten feet from my wallet. I descended to the first floor and Find My said I was five feet from my wallet. I descended to the basement and Find My said I had reached my wallet’s location. I activated Wallet Finder’s beeper and I could hear it when I actually was five feet from my wallet. I expected the beeper to be louder, but I think the volume would be adequate for finding your wallet in a restaurant (for example) without alarming the staff and other customers.I did not install SwitchBot’s iPhone app and I cannot comment on it. I was attracted to Wallet Finder because it did not require extra software or a subscription or any such nonsense, and of course because of Amazon’s Black Friday sale price. I am pleased with my purchase and have recommended it to others. If you keep the Wallet Finder card in your wallet, put it in the wallet’s top card slot with the beep speaker facing out. I think it would work even better in the outer pocket of a purse, or suspended inside a purse by the mini lanyard it comes with.

SwitchBot Wallet Tracker Card – Almost Perfect!
This tracker is super sleek and fits perfectly in my wallet without adding any bulk. One of my favorite features is how easy it is to find my phone—just double-press the button on the card, and my phone rings instantly. The tracking sound is pretty loud too, making it easy to find when misplaced. The only downside is the battery. Since it’s non-replaceable, once it dies, you have to buy a whole new card, which isn’t ideal. A rechargeable option would’ve been way better. It’s a great product, just wish the battery lasted longer or was replaceable!
