This filter can be connected to the back of the intake port of the ARC-12S, ARC-12SD, ARC-12SDH, ARC-14S, ARC-14SH, ARC-143MX and ARC-141BG models. not needed if you have the two hoses exitinging inside the screen or if you have the window screen resting ontop of the hose mounting bracket.In other words,you only need that to prevent insects and bees and any other critters from entering the 2 hoses for the air conditioner,the "intake hose" and the "exhaust" hoses.Thats all
