Perfect for me! (Not for everyone.)
I love cold drinks with lots of ice, but I live in an area prone to tropical storms and flooding where "boil water" notices are frequent. So connecting an ice maker to a tap water source is ill-advised. Consequently, I was buying bags of ice at the store every week. With this unit I can use bottled water and make all the ice I want. It has been reliable so far, and has already paid for itself.I really like the bullet-shaped cubes. They melt slowly enough to keep drinks cold, yet crush more easily than large cubes or crescents when used in a blender.Although it wasn't a major factor in my purchase, I plugged the unit into an ECOFLOW portable power station and solar panel just to see how it functioned. It pulled 1.8 amps when making ice, and worked the same as it did on regular house current, confirming that I could use that setup to make ice while camping or during a power outage.Note: This is not a "set it and forget it" commercial ice maker. You fill the well with water, it makes 9 cubes about every six minutes, and dumps them into a basket (and yes, that makes some noise, of course). That basket is in an insulated compartment, but it's not refrigerated, so if you leave the ice in it as shown in the product photos, it will eventually start to melt (the water drips back into the well). With that in mind, I usually make ice while I'm a watching a game on TV or something, so I can get up and dump each batch of ice into a container in my kitchen freezer before it starts to melt (and refill the 1.2L water well if needed). After three or four hours, I have enough ice (10+ pounds) for the week. This unit was priced considerably lower when I bought it. I'm not sure I would have purchased it for the current $75 (lots of similar choices for less), but I'm glad I have it.

Turns camping into glamping.
I use this while camping and works great. It makes ice quickly and works as advertised. It is a joy to have ice when you are roughing it.Having the scoop handle holder on the front has its pros and cons. It is convenient to always know where the scoop is and to keep it off surfaces, but you have to remove the scoop to open the unit. Also, as I am camping, having the scoop holder in front makes it a little harder to pack the unit.If you are camping off-grid please note the wattage, you will need a robust solar setup. Probably best plan on using it at electric sites or on a generator. This isn't a knock against this unit, it will be true for any ice maker. In fact, this one showed lower wattage than most I looked at.Finally, I have to give it some credit for durability. It has held together during its travels so far.

PRETTY SURE I'LL KEEP IT
Day 2...better than day 1. Takes less time. Love the ice but there's leftover water in the bottom that I have to drain. Mine isn't noisy at all. Yes, the ice is wet and sticks together in the freezer but if you put it in big glad bags you just have to whack it once it's hard and they separate. I was going to use it daily but making enough for a few days at a time is a better idea.

icemaker
I got this because my refrigerator does not have an ice maker in it. I like to chew ice a lot. (Keeps me from snacking so much.) I hear people complaining about the noise. I don't find it to be that loud. As a matter of fact I have already tuned it out on the first day. In any case it makes 2 "sizes". They are actually the same size only the thickness of the wall is different. It makes what I call "soft" ice. It is not the rock hard clear ice you get from the freezer, it is the opaque kind that is easy to chew. However, it does NOT keep it cold. You need to remove it and either use it or freeze it if you want to keep it. I plan on bagging it and freezing it. The basket holds about 6 reps of cubes before it stops because it is full. That works well for me. It holds enough water for about 2 baskets worth of ice. Hope this helps any who have these questions.

Skeptical to incredible
From skeptical, to "this is incredible", as my 5yr old yells each time the ice forms and drops the ice down and then lifts it to fall into the handheldbucket. So much that he begun setting a timer for every 7 minutes to watch them form and drop. I am totally impressed by this little honey badger of countertop ice machines. It could definitely be great in a she-shed, or man cave, but my family of 4, we use this every 2 days for a couple of cycles bc our freezers ice machine kept breaking. With this we use our filtered drinking water to fill it up and it tastes great. Just make the ice ahead of time so it has a chance to fill

Best portable ice maker
This is a great ice maker for on the go. I have used it in our RV over the past 2 trips and am impressed with the ability to make ice quickly. when the ice melts the water gets cycled back through to make more ice OR there is a light to indicate more water is needed.

Ice machine.
To be honest. Not at all what I expected. It’s rather annoying. I’m not saying it’s a bad product. It’s not for me. Takes too long and if you aren’t around to empty each tiny batch it starts melting. Takes too long with tiny batches

Great Buy
This thing is life-changing! Having an ice maker close by that makes ice so fast has improved my quality of life. It is very fast, about 6 min between ice cycles. It is the perfect ice maker to handle me and my partner, 2 people's worth of ice needed, without ever running out of ice. The noise is a little annoying sometimes, but not excessively loud.
