Loved it
DK makes great books and this one is no different. Great printing of graphics in their books and informative information. Little bit expensive to buy but is to be expected for this quality

Bee-tastic!
A charming book; the perfect introduction to the beauty of bees and beekeeping, or a lovely addition to anyone's collection software bee books.

What a triumph of a book! Intelligently and beautifully crafted.
This is one you'll keep coming back to, the amount of facts and detail the writers have gotten into every page is impressive. The book is so well laid out, with clever use of beautiful illustrations and photos throughout. There is no fluff. It covers all the basics of beekeeping and teaches you loads about other bees too. The section on pollinator plants is very useful. I like the well rounded approach, it's not just about honey but it does go over harvesting honey also. I think it would be a great introduction to beekeeping and even those that know the basics already will get something out of this.

This is simply a beautiful book.
This is simply a beautiful book. Primarily it is the accuracy and clarity of several aspects of the bee. Each aspect is beautifully illustrated and using 4 different authors to reflect the different angles means expertise exudes from every section. This would suit someone who wants to know more about bees in a scientific way, or those who want to make a bee friendly garden, budding beekeepers or those who want to use excellent products of the hive for practical, beauty or some health purposes. It is a nice quality hardback book so is durable for a general library or for beekeeping associations or school libraries. Dorling Kindersley continues to go from strength to strength in maintaining accuracy but at the same time explaining everything so clearly. Whilst children can comprehend the chapters, adults won't feel the book is childish. Even contemporary topics such as pesticides and colony collapse are included. I have already purchased two copies. One for visitors to our apiary at Hughenden Manor - a project run totally by volunteers where we have so many interested and curious visitors.

Informative and easy to read
This book is suitable for anyone with an interest in bees, regardless of whether they keep bees or just want to encourage them into the garden. I would have given 5 stars, except there's a hole through one page but, as it goes through a section about miner bees, we decided it's quite appropriate, so kept the book anyway!

Beeautiful Book!
We recently got a bee house and want to be able to identify any bees that may nest there and understand their life cycle. Bought this on a special deal and for the price it is really excellent value for money. Hard back, good size (see pen in picture to gauge size), glossy pages and would make a lovely coffee table book or gift for anyone into nature or gardening. I would be pleased with this book at full price to be honest. Beautiful inside pages decorated in a fantastic gold bee design too.Lots of information, probably a little too much for us!Oh there is great information on making bee houses, flowers to attract bees etc too!5 stars all day long!
