Great quality, good price
Excellent price & speedy dispatch. Ladder is great quality, and comes with all fixings to attach to the loft. Straight forward to do, took me about 35 minutes. Opens up so much extra space for me now! Highly recommended 👍🏻

so a good company to deal with
It seems I have been allowed more space to comment,I had an end cap missing on delivery, but after a phone call to BPS, a replacement was sent by return post, so a good company to deal with. Apart from that, I had everything in the kit as specified, to do the job.The hardest part for me was modifying the existing hatchway. I needed all new frame and architrave. If you measure the hatch door exactly to the opening remember to rebate the hinges into the door and the surround frame, otherwise if fitted as per instructions, you will get a noticable gap at the hinge end, and the door won't fit. I allowed a 1mm tolerence off the door all round to ensure it doesn't bind when you come to close the door. The ladder is quite robust and operates well. The slider bar and fixing brackets took a bit of trial and error to get right, as my first fixing was too high up the ladder and it wouldn't retract through the hatchway. One tip here is to put one screw in the fixing brackets just to test if when all folded up, it goes through the hatchway without snagging. you can fix all screws after that to be more secure. Lastly, my floor to top of ceiling joist was 2390mm which meant the two side stays were too short. I discarded these and arranged a piece of carpet in the loft for the ladder to rest on when retracted. As long as you arrange the spacers on the slider close to the the sides of the ladder, it will hinge quite smoothly into your loft space. This hasn't affected the operation or stability of my ladder, but I may try to make my own modified stay in due course. All in all a good product from a good company at a very good price.

Good Loft Ladder
The ladder was straight forwards to install, with good clear instructions. Excellent quality ladder that does the job a treat. Only bugbear is the poor quality screws supplied with it. Like so many things nowadays, let down by cheap and nasty screws.

Loft ladder
Sturdy loft ladder very happy with only issue with it is the metal pull stick needs a design rethink as it's awkward to push the ladder back into the loft and get it straight

Nice ladder with no instructions
This came quickly in decent packaging. When I finally came to fit it, it had no instructions. Luckily the supplier seems to be open 7 days a week. I phoned them and within an hour I had *some* instructions for a 2/3 section aluminium ladder, but the instructions were fairly different to my ladder. We managed to fit it, but having accurate instructions wouild've been useful. Also having two people is best. The price is good. The strength and rigidity is good. I'm 100Kg and the ladder doesn't creak or flex at all.The handrail, latches and fittings are of decent quality.7 days a week opening from the supplier is handy.Overall, a good ladder, shame about the instructions.

Good sturdy, smooth ladder.
Really good, sturdy, smooth moving loft ladder. I chose it because of the high weight limit as my husband is a bit iffy with heights and would not be much help with putting stuff up in the loft on a wobbly ladder! My dad and I put the ladder up, the actual 'doing stuff' bits didn't take long at all but we did spend a lot of time pondering over the instructions (which were very clear), and thinking about where exactly the ladder would go, measuring and re-measuring etc. With this kind of project it really does pay to take a bit of time to think things through as you go along. We haven't 100% finished installation - the safety rails look really good but we are going to wait to fit them as I wonder if they will get in the way a little when carrying things like boxes up the ladder; we may fit them to just one side. We also haven't yet fitted the pivot arms in the loft yet as I need to buy some wood to fix them to, as they are narrower than the joists. The other job we need to do is to convert the push-up loft hatch into a swing down one. The catch and hinges to do this are included with the ladder so all I need to do is get the existing hatch cut down to the required size. At any rate we now have a loft we can get into safely (though have to be careful pulling down the ladder without the pivot arms fixed) and can measure up for boards. Happy days!

Service? What service?
3-SECTION SLIDING LOFT LADDERIn fairness, the ladder seems well-made and sturdy. My experience goes downhill from there. 16 Sep Ordered ladder. Loft measurements easily met specifications on Amazon listing. 17 Sep Ladder delivered, packaging poor, a little cardboard but mostly polythene film, and torn. 21-22 Sep Tried fitting it, but ladder would not fit into attic. Tried setting pitch of ladder to upper and lower limits specified (65 and 80 degrees), but still no go. 23 Sep. Spoke chap at BPS, who asked me to send a video, which I did that day. 24 Sep. Received email from another chap at BPS, asking for video of part of fixing. 25 Sep Sent email with video. 25 Sep Left answerphone message, asking if email with video received. 26 Sep Phoned BPS again, and spoke to chap, who advised he couldn’t put me through, but would pass message for a call-back. 7 Oct (Today – 11 days later) Still awaiting re-contact. Fortunately, I ended up consulting a joiner, who, after a lot of time, some laboured trial and error, and a trick or two, managed to fix the ladder so that it – just – fits into attic. The above tells the story. What is particularly galling is the recorded message when you phone BPS, telling you what a fantastic company it is – 10 years old, 300,000 satisfied customers, and their great staff will “do or die” to help you.
