My husband loves this!
My husband has a lawn business, and uses a shovel pretty extensively. I got this for him for Christmas, and he loves it. He says it is a back saver. It looks to be of surprising quality, even though it is plastic. His only complaint is that it rides around some, not staying in place. We fixed that (hopefully) with a tennis racquet grip under it. A "ranger band" might work too, I guess.

Does not fit or stay tight
I thought this would be a great back saver. The clip to hold to handle is not tight enough and slips up the handle and will not stay in place. It is not usable

Huge back saver
This device is great. Easy to put on. Easy to adjust. Easy to switch to another device. This reduced the strain on my back when shoveling and sweeping for this fall cleanup. I highly recommend it for the ease of use and the ease of switching to other devices.

Beautiful Back Saver on my Stihl FS55R Straight Shaft Trimmer
3/30/2024 Update:I've used this handle on my Stihl FS55R straight shaft trimmer since 2021 as you can see below. I saw some pictures of this handle broken but I have not experienced this. I wrapped a piece of rubber innertube around the Stihl Trimmer shaft underneath the mounting bracket being careful not to make it too tight so I didn't break the handle mount. I also treat the handle as a piece of plastic and not a piece of steel so it has lasted. I purchased a harness to carry the weight of the trimmer on my shoulders and waist so the handle is only used to help me swing the trimmer back and forth. I do not turn my trimmer sideways to trim sidewalks or driveways. I also do not use it commercially, I'm a homeowner so I use it about once a week in the summer months. If I broke this handle, I'd buy another one as I haven't seen a better solution yet for my trimmer. For the price, it is well worth it and I'm still happy with my purchase.FYI: If my trimmer ever dies, I will most certainly buy another Stihl trimmer but it will be the Stihl handlebar model as my back pain is steadily increasing so I find ways to take the load off my back.I hope this updated information is helpful.9/20/2023 UpdateI've been using this handle on my Stihl FS55R Trimmer for 2 years now and it's still working great. I now see a lot more options for weed trimmers out there now but this simple solution is still working great. Again, I use a harness to hold the weight of the trimmer so I'm only using this to help me swing my trimmer back and forth. I still believe it's worth it.===================Original review back in 2021I bought this snow shovel lifting handle to put on a Stihl FS55R Straight Shaft String Trimmer. I have severe back pain and holding a string trimmer by the shoulder strap is no longer an option. I purchased a cheap bicycle innertube here on Amazon and I cut it up and wrapped it around the Stihl trimmer shaft and then mounted this handle over the innertube wrapped shaft. I had to maneuver it around a bit but once I got it in position this handle works great. I can now comfortably hang the Stihl trimmer from my harness and I can how sweep my trimmer back and forth with ease. In fact, I was seriously thinking about buying a new Stihl trimmer with the handlebars but putting this handle on my trimmer works so great that I'm leaving it just the way it is. In fact, I'm buying a second handle to try on some other garden tool like a rake or shovel or something. Okay, remember this is a piece of plastic so if you think you're going to buy this thing and try to use it as a lift fork or backhoe or something, think again. For what it is, I love this solution.

Fits nothing out of ridiculous number of tools
I bought this for a very long weed eater and as it turned out it’s too large for that purpose but I thought I would have no problem finding some other tool this handle would fit. I live on a farm. I have transfer shovels, scoop shovels, transplanting shovels, forestry shovels, about 5 kinds of weeding hoes, fruit pickers, pole saws, muck forks and rakes…all different brands, some with wood handles, some with fiberglass, a couple with solid metal handles..antique to bought last week..you get the picture. I was amazed that this handle fit exactly zero percent of my tool inventory. It was too large in diameter for 90% but wouldn’t fit over the larger diameter handles at all without risk of splitting. A couple of tools it appeared to fit but would have needed a extra rubber spacer or sleeve to stay snug, which negates the whole instant adjustment feature. Maybe I just have the strangest collection of tools in the world but this item is in some sort of sizing dead zone for me.

Did Not Work For Me
I bought this because it has a "clamp" on the bottom which the other similar "extra tool handle" products don't have(those can fall off easily) - unfortunately it did not help much(for back pain or otherwise).I tried it on an empty snow shovel(20 inch Suncast with black synthetic pole/shaft/handle) - I was afraid it would break off as most parts of the "extra handle" are plastic. I believe there was a small cushion strip on the inside. I was able to (gently) fit it on the middle part of the shovel "shaft" where there are no friction bumps without anything breaking.I proceeded to simulate "throwing snow" with my shovel and here I encountered the problem - the "extra handle" does not stay in place on my shovel - it moves up and down the shaft and also spins around it when you pull on the shovel's grip/handle with your other hand. I imagined trying to use this on 6-30 inches of snow in one storm that we in the Northeast often receive in Winter. This was not going to work for me.Yes I probably could have tried to secure it with "gorilla tape" and by adding another internal cushion layer but this is too much of a hassle for something I may not use for a whole day of snow. I primarily bought this "extra handle" for snow shovels when clearing the frequent light snow(1-4 inches) that we get in between the blizzards. Heavy snow(like the March 21st blizzard we just had) is difficult to "shovel" without grabbing the pole/shaft/handle with one of your hands(and of course bending your back and causing pain and discomfort) to provide lift and carry motions.I also bought an "extra handle" sold by the Canadian company "Garant"(not sold on Amazon - product code: Garant GMDG), that has its own drawback - it is short and therefore to use it I still have to "hunch over" to pick up and throw snow. But it has 2 adjustable locking mechanisms and for the most part stays in place and has worked better for me than the "Rah" did which I returned.
