Get a large if you are a 12. I bought an XL, and it was kind of big on me--I was able to alter it to fit me better, but a large would have fit much better.

I normally wear a medium or large women's, but purchased XL after reading comments that it runs small. XL fits perfect - go for a bigger size than you normally wear.
