It successfully did a Crankshaft position relearn on my 1999 GMC Yukon saving me hundreds of dollars
Due to a P0336 error code in my 1999 GMC Yukon, I replaced the crankshaft position sensor. But after installation, it requires a “Relearn” procedure that can only be done by an appropriate bidirectional scan tool that can do GM vehicles. These types are usually $400 and up. My old generic $350 Innova does not have this ability. So, I emailed GSSULIT support to check if their $149 SC530 GM scan tool would do the Relearn procedure on my Yukon, and within only a couple hours, they got back to me explaining that it definitely would. This quick and thorough support sold me immediately. Their support staff is very knowledgable and helpful. I also asked if it could read CMP Retard because I want to install a new distributor where this procedure is usually needed. They got back to me a day later after double checking for my specific vehicle and responded that for my 1999 Yukon, the SC530 would not be able to read CMP., but it might work for other models. Very nice that they researched this for me and were honest and quick to reply. But I was OK with that because this CMP measurement doesn’t need bidirectionality so it can be done cheaply using the right $10 scan tool App along with the right $30 Bluetooth scanning dongle. To make a long story short, the SC530 arrived today. It was quick and easy to use. And its bidirectional capability did the crankshaft position relearn on my Yukon in less than 5 minutes. So easy! It paid for itself with this one fix. Comes with a nicely made and very readable User Manual, too. I’m impressed.

Great GM specific bidirectional service tool
Purchased specifically to relearn crank sensor on a 2004 Buick Le Sabre. Quick and easy. Then, I used it to scan all codes including all the non obd2 stuff. My standard OBD2 reader was giving me an all good, no codes. This GC tool found no less than 25 codes from ECM, ABS, HVAC. Amazing. Even told me what blend doors were not working and after replacing them, recalibrated. Still discovering features but the Buick is happy. Now I’m thinking of buying the Ford download for my 1997 F-150.

Capable entry level scanner
This is a scanner that will get you into the next level of electronic repair. It's a little clunky, you can't rapidly traverse menus with the keys because you must press the single shot arrow key and then wait just a second for it to register before you can make another move, the save feature to take snapshots of the events that occur in the OBD2 monitoring chip in your vehicle have to be titled using the same arrow keys and a keyboard that is asking single click move in a direction find a letter press enter type of thing. I purchased it specifically to relearn my crank sensor on my 454. Having solved that project and having problems with my 2007 Ford f150 I've been using it as a general OBD2 scanner on that vehicle. It has very accurately identified particular problems in the OBD2 realm. It has live Scan, will read the onboard monitor for all smog related monitoring, and if I can track down the last one or two items as far as the errors go this thing will have saved me thousands. I would suggest if you have a particular model that you buy the thing with the module installed but the module is only going to cover that specific vehicle as far as the extreme end up capability, the OBD2 general level monitor is far beyond anything I've ever used before making this a much worthwhile purchase.

Good scan tool for the price..
I bought this for the bidirectional functionality and if you are looking at this scan tool chances are that's why you are after too...For GM truck I was working on. Guy changed the CKP but still got error code.. So I figured he needed a relearn but I didn't have a scan tool to do it.. So after looking around for cheapest one that had this function I bought this one..Now I will say it's not the fastest scan tool most modern scan tool.. But at this price point that is kinda of expected...In fact at this price point most scan tools won't give you any real bidirectional control at all. They give you some "special functions" but that's not the same thing...Also on many cars those "special functions" won't work without bidirectional control resulting in very limited cars those "special functions" will work on..You usually have to move to at least 300$ and up scan tools to get real bidirectional control..I will say those 300$ plus models usually come with all brands included in the price vs this one which is just one brand...Still for my purposes it fit perfect.. As I rarely work on cars and I like the idea of just buying the brands you need as you go along...If your a Pro this scan tool probably not for you as it's slow and a pro would need all brands possible.. Which on this tool would get too expensive..However this is great for the DIY'er and people who sometimes do small mech jobs on the side like me.Because it's not like in the old days. Even 20 year old clunkers these days can require a scan tool with some bidirectional control even for basic stuff like battery swaps...This tool does that without breaking the bank...

You can’t do anything with it
Can’t do no stars. Total waste of time and money. You can’t do anything on Chevy volt with this except view.Multiple corespondents with manufacturer and got exactly no where.

Would definitely purchase again.
Amazing device. Does all functions the oems can do at a fraction of the price. And if down the road get a new car you can purchase that brand as well through their site. I’ve use it on Mercedes, Mitsubishi and gmc so far. Great product.
