Great resource. Should have bought comprehensive one to start with.
Great book but the comprehensive one is what I should have purchased to start with. I now have both. I may update this review if I find a need for both.

Learn to program in Java like it’s literature
The classical writing style of this author, Herbert Schildt is always entertaining; so you learn a difficult topic while you’re being entertained like you are reading a novel. That to me is genius.

Prompt, and in great condition!
I believe this is the book that got me through Intro to Java Programming. Still completely relevant today, so...glad I got this.

Error in first chapter
That is definitely not the output from that code. Unable to find errata anywhere online. It may just be unlucky, but I feel like if there's basic errors like this in the first chapter, it doesn't bode well for the rest of the book. Not sure if this is a Kindle issue only.

Really touches all basis
I used this book along with the reference book and Java for dummies. Java for dummies was a better and easier read but this book covers it all
