Professional and easy to use
I had a code read by a store and told the issue was a high voltage on a temp sensor. I changed the sensor. When I got this reader my (first) I read the instructions plugged it in and cleared the code. So about the reader. Instructions are lettered a little small, but easy enough to understand. Using the tool is easy to navigate. Not a ton of buttons, very simple. Reader read the same code issue and worded the same as the stores big dollar reader. I love it. I work on our vehicles all the time and it saves me a lot of time traveling and trying to figure out the problem. I suggest people have one of these. It could save money at the repair shop or at home.

Great Christmas gifts!
Have you ever sounded like an idiot trying to describe mechanical issues with your car? Ever wondered if you were being taken advantage of at the repair shop?I can't recommend this handheld scanner enough for anyone to have on hand as a good basic diagnostic scan tool. It's a simple plug-in under the dash or steering column (and if you can't find where, a quick Google or YouTube video will show you), and the up/down/enter buttons are simple to follow to get to the engine error code display (again, searching the code number on Google & YouTube will provide all kinds of info!).I bought it to get more info on a "check engine" light in my 2013 Infiniti before I contacted a mechanic after the weekend, by which time I could tell them that the error code showed (only) 2 of my cylinders weren't firing and needed new spark plugs. I used it again this month when my car went into "limp mode" & wouldn't run. After towing it home (thankfully free with my insurance), the error was "low coolant" from apparently a leaking radiator cap (an $11 fix). I don't even want to know the hassle and cost of leaving it in the hands of a mechanic shop instead! The scanner now stays in the car for on-the-road info and peace of mind in case of travel issues, and my friends and children are getting scanners for Christmas this year!

A real lifesaver is traveling
This little device is a lifesaver. I was on vacation when the check engine light came on. Ordered this from Amazon and had it in two days. Plugged it in and it worked right away. The trouble codes are clear and in English. I contacted my mechanic back home, and was able to work things out. No need to struggle finding a local mechanic, who may or may not be competent, or to engage a dealer many miles away. This is a superb device and I'm thinking of getting another to carry in my other car. Only regret is that the owner's manual has miniscule type, but it is available on line. There are also many youtube videos.

Useful for clearing codes
Seems to work well. No printer, but I wouldn't expect one for the cost. Nor do I need one. I use it to check trouble codes and clear them. My car occasionally records a misfire when it's trying to start. I use the machine to clear the check engine light, so that I'll know if it's something else or something more serious. Huge caveat; I'm not a mechanic - at all.

Great little car gadget
It’s a great gadget to find out what is wrong with your car. My only recommendation is NOT to clear out the code. I thought it just cleared it from the gadget but it clears from your car. When I took my car in to have it serviced they couldn’t repair right away because malfunction light not on dash any longer. Have to wait until malfunction light reappears. Won’t be clearing code in future. Otherwise, happy with purchase at a reasonable price.

It Works On Motorcycles Too
Bought this along with an adapter to reset stubborn codes on an Indian Challenger.Having the codes is great to diagnose and correct a Check Engine light. Even better is the ability to reset / clear the code without "key / run cycles" - especially around Inspection time. This one does the trick just fine.So far everything works as advertised. It's been quite effective and didn't cost an arm and a leg.Five stars!

Every car should have one of these in the glove compartment
My check engine light turned on and I started to worry what could be wrong. I picked this up, and it turned out it was a just a loose gas cap! Now that I have this little guy, I can know how serious the warnings are and if I ca take care of the problem my self. It's a wight off my shoulders for sure, and I'm glad I bought it.Oh! It doesn't need batteries, so as long as your car has power, this fella will power up.

OBD 2 Code Reader. 5 Stars.
I paid around 20 dollars for this reader and it works great. It reads and will clear codes from my all vehicles. It does some real time displays of car status as well. But I bought it to read codes. It worked on a Ford, Honda and Toyota. Works great and I recommend it for a basic reader.
