Device installs on a merged 2.4/5 ghz network!
I recently upgraded my broadband service, which resulted in my 2.4 & 5ghz bands being merged into a single network. As I can no longer separate them, I can't connect my phone to the 2.4ghz band to manage the many 'legacy' 2.4ghz devices I have around the house.I've therefore begun to replace these with 5ghz compatible devices. I had already installed one of these Yagusmart switches before the broadband upgrade, and was afraid that I might not be able to connect the others I had bought. However, I was pleased to find that the 'Smartlife' app recognised the switches immediately and automatically installed them without asking me to log my phone on to a 2.4ghz network.Having decided to go a stage further and instal a 3-gang switch in my kitchen/diner I noticed that the product information for the Yagusmart states that it requires a 2.4ghz connection. I contacted the seller to ask if it was possible to install it on a merged band network. They told me that all their switches work in the same way, so if the single gang ones worked, this one should also install.Short version is that I bought one, and it installed immediately with no problems. Great result - and thanks to the seller for the help and support! 😊

Unreliable. 40% failure rate
Of the ten switches like this (1-, 2- and 3-gang) that I bought over a few months this year, four failed within days of fitting. One had a relay that arced; another had a touch switch that was not sensitive enough and continually disconnected from the Wi-Fi, which is only 2m away; the third was unstable and caused all three lights to blink off an on; the fourth seized up in the on position after 24 hours and could not be reset.I tried swapping the switches around to positions that used neutral and some that did not. The faults seem to be independent of whether a neutral is used, and since other instances of the same switch do work it does not seem to be the wiring or the light fitting that is at fault. I have to conclude that it is poor quality control in manufacture. Those that failed were all 3-gang, but I do not know if that is significant.

Excellent product
I can’t fault this as it was easy to install and very easy to set up with Alexa. Some reviews report flickering but I’ve had no such problems. The supplied capacitor need to connect across the light fitting so you need to access two locations - the light fitting and the light switch. I connected mine across my main light which is five 11w, CCFL bulbs. As these fail I will replace these with LED ones and I am hoping that I don’t see problems. However for now it’s a great product - shame to see the price has been hiked by £3 since I last bought it and that is now £19.99Jan 2024 update. I bought some new LED light bulbs which are faulty as when you switch them on they trip the 5A circuit breaker on the house wiring. However this breaker doesn’t trip fast enough to prevent the light switch from being damaged and it now no longer works. I took it apart and the Triacs (electronic relays) have nothing to turn off the Triac if an excess current flows through them so any serious fault on the lighting circuit will cause the Smart switch to fail. This isn’t unsafe in my opinion but it means you haven’t got the same robustness that mechanical light switch offers.

Good customer service and easy to use product
First switch didn’t work on arrival. Customer service was excellent quick reply and provided a refund for the initial switch as I had already bought another.Replacement switch worked first time. Decent smart switch.

Recommend- works well.
Easy to install and setup via tuya smartlife. Used the supplied resister which was easy enough to fit. I have no flicker and the switch works flawlessly. Quality is pretty good with smart design. I would recommend

It has promise but mine is faulty....
Garbage. Looks pretty and works well for a while but within 8 hours of fitting it, it has rebooted itself twice, or something to that effect. When it does this, it loses connection to everything and all the programming I spent ages doing in the app has to be done again from scratch. You have to pair the thing back to the WiFi and start over.Update: after 6 days of fiddling I have pinned the fault down to when someone touches the panel with more than one finger at a time. Have had some back and forth with the seller who are sending me a replacement. Fingers crossed for the second one. Such a shame because this is a great product when it works. Updated to 3 stars purely for the customer service.Absolutely pointless. Will be putting my old switch back on in the morning. Total waste of money.

Good theory but poor execution
It was ok to install and set up - controls the lights, can create scenes on Smart Life and Google Home. The thing with this is that it is so unreliable. It randomly resets and then you can't control it using your voice or the app. Then you have to set it up from the start all over again. I had to do this 5 times in a week!A couple of times the switch became totally unresponsive to touch or app control. Had to shut off power at the mains before it came back to life, with all the setting reset as expected. It's a good concept but the execution lets it down. I'm returning all the switches I ordered and going to look for something better and more reliable.
