The ladder arrived today and I find that the construction to be firm and sturdy. The three steps are a good depth enabling a safe climb. The top platform seems to be non slip and the small shelf at the top very handy. The only thing I would change is the addition of a small pot type shape on the shelf to hold a screw or two.I would recommend this item, good price great product fast delivery.

Very lightweight but sturdy. Steps are non slip and at 5ft 5 I will be able to reach to do the things my husband used to do around the house. Love the sides to hold onto which makes me feel safer. Just what I was looking for.

I bought this six-step Songmics platform ladder from Amazon because I'm finding older ladders uncomfortable and unsteady. This one is brilliant. Absolutely robust and sturdy, easy to open and close, and remarkably light nevertheless. The deep steps are a godsend compared with previous ladders, but the best thing is the spacious top platform. I can stand on that with knees touching the sides to feel secure, and can grasp the tall side extensions if I need for extra security. Even at this height, the ladder feels completely secure, no flexing or straining.Now this is where I have an issue with the supplier. This is a well designed piece of kit, really fit for purpose (imho). But ... the web and included instructions/guidance say "do not stand on the top step". Why not? Because you might fall off! Of course you might, if you're careless, stupid, drunk or needlessly nervous because of ridiculous instructions! You might equally stab yourself with a screwdriver, choke on a paintbrush, chop off your finger with a pair of shears. The whole point of that platform is to stand on it, so why on earth advise not to? Of course, health & safety, EU regulations?, insurance ... "You were told not to stand on it so we're not paying up". This almost put me off buying it. But I'm glad I did.Ignore the crap about not standing on the platform. It's designed for standing on, just observe common sense like a solid, firm, level base and don't lean crazily. I've just sorted an entire tall hedge with it using an electric trimmer. Wielding it with both hands while standing on the platform. (Warning: don't try this at home. Ladders and hedge trimmers are intrinsically lethal, especially in combination). Tremendous!

I'm an old woman with osteoporosis and I'm afraid I will break a bone if I fall and my old ladder was wobbly. This one is nice and sturdy. I feel very safe using it and it's light enough I have no problems moving it around. My only issue is my own fault. My ceiling are 11 ft tall and I wish the ladder was taller.

I did a lot of research online for replacement ladders. I'd owned a 3 step ladder for years, but now I needed stepladders with 6 steps since moving to a house with a conservatory and unable to reach the high windows and roof.I saw these Songmics ladders and they seemed perfect for my needs, including wide steps.The ladders were ordered and were delivered earlier than I thought, which was brilliant.The ladders arrived in a cardboard box, which was in very good condition. Inside, the ladders were wrapped in a sealed plastic bag. Having removed the wrappings, I tried the ladders and found then to very sturdy and very comfortable to stand on the deeper steps. I disposed of the box, then had to take the ladders upstairs. As I carried them upstairs I noticed the plastic tray had a crack. Upon further inspection, the tray was actually badly damaged, cracked both sides, so now unsafe.As I had thrown the packaging away, I realised that I was unable to return them to Amazon, so decided to contact the makers directly and to see if I could purchase a replacement top tray.Songmics replied to my query asking for a link to the Amazon product, a copy of proof of purchase and photos of the damaged top tray. I sent these things to them and they came back to me stating that a top tray was not available, but they would either refund 50% of the purchase price and try and repair the ladders myself, or they would send me a new stepladder free of charge, providing I disposed of the damaged one.I accepted a replacement ladder. The ladder was delivered the next day and is in perfect condition. I disposed of the old ones and sent photo evidence of them in our local recycling skip.I am completely amazed at the wonderful customer service from Songmics that I received and so am glad that I chose these ladders.I would definitely recommend this company and of course the excellent pair of ladders.

Lightweight, sturdy and the rail gives you confidence to reach that bit higher.
