Hasn’t broken yet
Does what it’s supposed to and hasn’t broken yet. Gen 5 Glock base plates stick out a bit in front and aren’t compatible with the magwells I run on my EDC guns. This tool was very helpful in swapping base plates on all my mags and made a normally difficult job pretty painless.

You need it if you have a glock
Very helpful in getting those stubborn baseplate off. If you have a glock, you'll want this handy tool!

Good Product but still had a painful time removing the original Glock base plate
I'm glad that I had this product, but it still was a pain to get the Glock base plate off my magazine.

Real Avid grossly UNDER-sells this VERY useful tool that does EXACTLY what it claims to do! :)
Some things they don't tell you that they really should, if they want to sell more of these.First, this is a VERY well-engineered tool. There are two materials used -- a stiff but gripping frame molded as a single piece around a core of extremely high-strength plastic, which feels reinforced. The gripping part makes the tool entirely non-skid on the surface you are using, and the super-strength part is what interfaces with the magazine proper.Second, it actually works exactly the way they claim, and it really is that easy. And it seems like they spent a lot of time sweating the minor details, like the angle at which you begin levering the magazine and how that prevents you from slamming it into the work surface, and the tolerances which are the perfect balance of precision and clearance for easy use.Third, this thing is built like a tank. Turn yours upside-down and you'll see how they've reinforced the inner super-strength part in such a way that it creates the perfectly-shaped magazine unloader. Frankly, this thing is worth twice what they charge. The people involved in bringing this to market are true mensches to the firearms industry, and I look forward to seeing more of their inventions.BOTTOM LINE: If you own a Glock, buy this.UPDATE: So I bought a Mantis X system for practicing indoors, using the Glock magazine floorplate replacement adapter. I removed the stock floorplate using this tool and then manually pushed on the adapter floorplate... and then saw how the adapter floorplate's detent hole was now recessed deeply under the short Picatinny rail on the floorplate. Oh, No! So I became frantic about how this tool wasn't going to help with removing THIS floorplate... until I tried it. You won't believe this, but they actually formed the super-strong insert to exactly fit the recess in the Mantis X adapter! Of course, because the adapter floorplate is way thicker than an original floorplate, the mag drops down onto the tool an eighth of an inch once you slide it off the floorplate adapter, and you'll have to manually push the adapter onto the magazine rather than use the tool, but that's a piece of cake and the main reason I bought this tool was to remove Glock floorplates.

You need this
If you're conscientious about marring mag base plates then this is for you! This is so much easier than using a screwdriver and brute strength to pop the baseplate off, you know what I'm talking about. Directions are straight forward and I'm very satisfied with this product!

Wish I had this years ago!
I struggled for years to disassemble Glock magazines, and found it impossible with the "other" manual tool. I was able on the first try to get one apart and two tries later to get it together (that spring and floor plate are tricky). Watch the video. Use the horizontal pin to push the floor plate tab/pin in, and slightly slide the plate forward (toward front of mag). Rotate the mag upright onto the verticle pin and finish sliding back the magazine (so the baseplate slides forward). For re-assembly, insert the follower, spring and inner plate. Set them onto the baseplate (on the tool) and slide the magazine forward. You may have to jiggle it slightly for the tab to clear and lock into the baseplate. Easy!

Makes Disassembly a Breeze - Though Oversized Floor Plates May Add Difficulty
I was struggling to replace my G20 magazine floor plate using a handheld punch - while HK magazines cost a fortune, they are a breeze to take down - not so with these Glock magazines! After scraping up my hand one too many times, I decided to order this tool. Following the included instructions, it was a flawless, quick process to remove the factory magazine floor plate, disassemble the mag, and put it back together.I also decided to try replacing my factory floor plate with an oversized stainless steel plate (entirely for cosmetic reasons). It was a bit of a challenge - as you can see in the photo, this aftermarket floor plate is larger than the factory floor plates, so it doesn't "seat" into the tool nicely. It requires a bit more maneuvering with your hands - and some more force. *However*, as you can see in the photo, it works. The tool is still able to install AND REMOVE these floorplates without damaging the magazine, floorplate, or itself - I have my doubts that a cheaper handheld tool would escape unscathed! This tool is clearly able to perform to design specs and beyond. And for only $15, it should be in any Glock mag owners' tool chest.
