Worked for my Mtb2176hrb model Maytag fridge, I think the reason why yours isn’t working is because when they ship it, it’s left in defrost mode, what I did was turned the little Dial at the top in the middle a tiny bit to the right & it started to work.

Failed after 9 months
Unfortunately did not last long even though it was twice the price. Worked perfectly for nine months but I would expect a part like this to last for years.
