USB C External CD DVD Drive, USB Type C Adapter to USB 3.0 Superdrive DVD CD+/-RW Burner Writer Optical Drive Compatible with MacBook/iMac/Laptop/Windows

I don't normally write reviews but this is worth every minute of my time. I was so happy i received a good working external DVD-CD drive. It works both in my 2013 Mac Book Air and 2017 Mac Book Pro using the USB type C adapter with no problem. I previously ordered 2 other ones in different brands after reading the reviews. Both didn't work and returned to Amazon. I was so frustrated and read the reviews carefully before I ordered this drive. Also. came with a manual and FAQ with answers which are both helpful and good reference if you get into a situation. I'm just grateful I got something worth the money I paid for, Thanks much!

I was kind of surprised that so many new computers do not come with a DVD drive. Several of the programs that I wanted to install on my new computer have DVD installation discs, so it was a choice of giving up my favorite programs or getting a disk drive to install them. That, and I like to play CDs and DVDs on my computer.This external drive works great, has a small footprint, and is easy to use. It was the perfect solution.

This thing does not work on my new macbook air, USB C running Catalina. When firing up the DVD application (had to do that by hand) it demands setting the region, it's defaut is -1. When I try to set it to 1, the application declares "Not Permitted" and the application closes.The USB C adaptor does not properly seat on the DVD player USB plug and the USB C part does not seat properly in the computer. I have my own dongle and that fits but the drive behaves the same way.The "manual" is in broken english and covers nothing of interest to normal users.This is clearly a scam.

I used the player to watch DVDs for CEU course, review old videos taken with a flip phone (converted well to play with the Quick time player installed), review DVD from radiology of injury sustained several years ago. All worked easily with quick plug in using USB to back of computer. I have only used for one day but have been satisfied that this was what I was looking for at a good price.

It's hard to believe we live in a world where you can get a CD/DVD writer/drive for $26, delivered straight to your door. In 2001, I purchased and installed a CD-R drive in my desktop, and the damn thing cost me $280 and a boatload of aggravation. This thing is awesome. Easy to use, works great, lightweight/portable. Love it. Buy it.

The instructions were clearly written using google translate and make reference to 'foreign press'? The plastic/assembly is shoddy.

I decided to wait a few months before writing a review as many cheap electronics that I have purchased in the past have proven to not last that long. I could not be more pleased with this external CD drive! I have been using it fairly frequently for the past few months and I am so glad I did not go for a more expensive product. It works perfectly for my mac. It does exactly what it is supposed to do and I can't imagine any way in which it could be improved. I would definitely purchase from this company again if the need arose.

My previous DVD player died when I was trying to install an app.All I had to do with this drive was plug it into a USB (USB-3) port and use it. No need to install any drivers or anything.I was using it within a minute of plugging it into the port. I am very pleased with my purchase.Windows 10 Pro desktop computer.
