Great mirror, excellent customer service.

Just finished installing the mirror and backup camera. It looks good, works great, and has good image quality for both day and night. I really like the mirror because it automatically reduces glare from headlights at night just like my original mirror. It even looks like my original mirror. Two days after I received my order, the company contacted me to let me know that they had some quality control issues with the camera - image was fuzzy. I received the replacement camera a couple days later. I was impressed that the company took the initiative to correct the problem even before I knew about it.When I went to install the mirror, I discovered that the mount did not fit my existing car mount. I emailed customer service, and they quickly sent out a new mount adapter. Installation went without a hitch on my old Toyota Sequoia. The cables provided were more than enough for the big SUV.My recommendation, get the mirror - very good price for the features provided. I am very happy with the customer service. When you order, email them with a picture of your car mount and your order number. Your mirror should arrive with the correct mount for your car.

good but.....

I should start by saying I’m a Master Automotive Technician with almost 30-years of experience. I do the majority of the add-on equipment installs at work mostly because I enjoy it. My initial impression of this back up camera and mirror combo was quite good. They include a small plastic trim tool as well as a little test light. I appreciated that there were several adapters to get this mirror on a larger variety of windshields as well as a wire cover to go from the mirror base to the headliner and a small variety of fuse taps to really help this be as “plug & play” as possible. The wire length looked like it’d be more than enough for the average vehicle. It wasn’t until I started installing it that all the little things started to pop up. The mirror base that attaches it to the windshield could use a shim to make it a prettier install but it is tight and doesn’t wiggle at all. The little wire cover worked well although it didn’t feel like it snapped into the mirror base as well as I would’ve liked. Here comes the bad part. The camera end of this equipment. I installed this in a 2013 Toyota Prius. If the actual lead on the camera had been 2½ to 3-feet longer this would’ve been SO much easier as that cable could have been routed out to the car’s body rather than running the center section of cable into the hatch. That center section of cabling has an RCA connector for video to be fed to the mirror on one end and the other end has the power, ground and camera connection. On the RCA in of that cable there is a rather random looking red-wire that pokes out of the harness and the instructions don’t explain it at all. That random red wire is there to make a quick and easy connection to tell the mirror to turn on the little display. The part I didn’t like is this wire is red and the one it hooked to is green. A little uniformity or at least one more label would’ve made it clearer. Now, onto the instruction sheet. I can’t say it was incomplete but it was less than accurate. Lets just call them generic instructions. There was a packing list but it only included the main three components and the wire cover to go above the mirror. While the wiring diagram is technically accurate it does leave that one red wire out completely. It also shows completely different components. There is a section on adjusting the guide lines but it doesn’t give any real insight on adjusting the brightness of the display or the darkening of the mirror. EG can the mirror be darkened while the display is on to help reduce reflections. After a few weeks of use my wife reports she likes the night vision and the auto-dimming while functional is a little slow when transitioning to dark mode. Other than that, she likes it.

Camera failed after a day

The mirror works ok, but the reflective nature of the mirror fights with the video image. When I look at it during the day the reflection is so bright it’s hard to see the video image. The low stars are mostly because the camera worked fine for only 1 day and then failed. I bought a different camera and now it works ok except what I mentioned above. I may return it.

Great Backup Mirror with Auto-Dim. Solid build. Easy to install.

Replace an OEM mirror with this mirror. Solid build quality. Easy to install. Easy way to improve safety and visibility. NOTE....The wiring harness has a loose green wire from Mirror side that connects to the loose red wire from the backup camera side. Both wires are adjacent and to the yellow rca connectors. This is not clear in the instructions and is the connection that allows the mirror to activate when the car is placed in reverse. The easiest way to connect the rear camera reversal trigger wire is to strip a half inch of the wire and insert it directly into the backup light connector by disconnecting reverse light plastic connector (male and female), insert the stripped wire into the female side, then carefully reconnect male and female for backup light. This is on the left rear-trunk lid, under the fabric liner of the trunk lid for a Toyota Camry.

Did not work at all!

Tried several times and few different connections and never worked at all! I can't rate camera quality, night vision, nor touch screen because nothing worked! And the most frustrating thing about the installation was the really really poor directions! They made mention of three wires only and no mention of several other wires on the wiring harness!! They should have made things much clearer!!!

Decent camera cheap plastic housing.

Wired camera up and after confirming functionality I put all wiring and panels back and started to look at adjusting the camera at which point the top hinge on housing broke off.I was able to get it together using other side of housing but it's tight.Would have returned unit but it was fully installed at that point.Hoping it will hold up.***UPDATE: Just under 2 months and camera has failed. I have been in contact with iMirror and they are sending new camera.
