Compared to regular ceramic heat guards which often measure over 25cm tall, the new combination of WhitePython products will reduce the overall height of your ceramic heating unit to just 16cm, with a diameter of 14cm. What’s more, with a built in custom reflector dome your heater will become more energy efficient, reducing the necessary output to achieve the required temperature whilst also reducing the heat that rises into the roof of the terrarium, thereby reducing the possible risk of fire hazards. The Ceramic Heat Guard & Reflectors are available in 3 colours; Midnight Black, Leaf Green and Earth Brown. They feature an outer guard to protect your reptile against possible burns, an inner reflective dome to push heat downwards and finally, a removable mesh grille on the base for easy access to the ceramic heater. Installation of this innovative heat guard is also made easy with the twist lock screw fittings. Unlike traditional heat guards where you need to struggle holding the unit in the terrarium whilst single handedly trying to screw through a small hole into the terrarium room, WhitePython has made this easy. Buyer beware if you own a snake.
My headline is buyer beware, this is a really good product well made and does the job it is intended to do, I cannot complain at that, the only reason I give one star as I need you to be clear on what you might be in for if you own a snake, if your buying it for an animal other than a snake then I say buy this as your upgrade or just jump straight to the best thing, a good upgrade from what I had, but here it is, I have a young corn snake, 4 months, i found the snake had got through the grills that stop your animal from touching the bulb and hurting themselfs and was laying right under the ceramic bulb, had I not have seen this and gone to bed I may have been looking at a dead snake in the morning, when its older I think I will be ok but for now I can't use it, a mesh grill would have been a much better option from the manufacturer for an all around product than a bar grill as my snake just pushes its self through the bars. There you have it my honest opinion.

Perfect for Pythons, don't use with corn or rat snakes!
Ok I have two vivariums for Royal Pythons (ball pythons to our US cousins), both with these in.I use these with a White Python 150W, slimline ceramic heater, they provide enough heat to warm a 138x50x55cm vivariums to a level that keeps my little guys very happy (ensure your thermometer and thermostat probes are near the bottom people).Using this particular set up the heater is active for approx half the time.These are not suitable for corn snakes, which should really be heated using heating mats as they are much more slender and lighter snakes (any one who keeps corn or rat snakes should know this).
