No. It displays from 948mb to 1050mb

Yes, it is made in Germany. It is a Fischer. Works great!

Q: My barometer stopped working after five years of great service. Now, it just stopped. How do I fix it? I tried recalibrating it several times.

If you need to keep recalibrating for small changes I'd live with it. If the needle doesn't move at all after checking with your local weather channel, I'd say 5 years is good enough and buy a new one. I need to make small calibration corrections from time to time, but I expect this. This barometer uses an old mechanism which has limited accuracy--most do.

Q: Can you hang it outside?

No. It's not made for outside conditions. Mine is inside, once calibrated it's right on. Style has not changed for decades. Had same brand when I was a kid. Extremely accurate. Wouldn't have any other brand. Nice to know ahead of time before weather is going to change. Sports, hunting and especially fishing lets ya know when to go or stay home! Hope that helps you.
