Great when it works, but frequent HDMI resolution issues
Got this product yesterday for my Galaxy S9 (and soon to be Galaxy S10), as I wanted to test using the DeX features from my phone to act as a "laptop" of sorts to remove one of the devices from my backpack (tablet).I'll say that when it works, it's awesome. Even on the S9, where reviews said performance was just 'ok', it's liquid smooth in everything I've used. I'm running the Android Pie / One UI update on my GS9, so it's possible this experience was significantly improved with that update. Chrome is lighting fast and scrolling is super smooth, the ability to use the phone as a touchpad is awesome, the UI is slick (I actually prefer it to both MacOS and Windows so far!), and you get all of your existing Android apps and whatever accounts/data you have loaded in them as a seamless experience. Search is also super fast.Unfortunately, I'm having pretty frequent HDMI issues. I've tried multiple cables, multiple monitors, plus a couple TV's. When it plug the HDMI cable in and DeX activates, I can tell right away the display is messed up as it loads (flicker, banding, etc), and DeX loads up with an error message that something is wrong with the display or it's broken. Sometimes if I unplug/replug the USB Type-C from the adapter to my phone several times, it might work great on attempt 2, 3, 5, or 7 - ie it might eventually work, or I'll just give up. At first I thought it was based on device type:* It won't work properly, ever, on my LG 4K TV with a high-end HDMI cable (cable also being used just fine for Fire TV 4K, Xbox One, etc).* On a 1080P HP monitor, it works about 2/3 of the time.* On a Dell 1080P monitor, it worked the first time, but hasn't worked since (I've tried about a dozen times). This is a monitor at work that I was planning to show off DeX to my coworkers, and I got them all excited and wawawawaaahhhh it isn't working for me to show them. Not sure if there's something wrong with mine or this device in general. If this was just stable/reliable it would be *awesome*, because it's otherwise so slick and smooth of an experience!

works great! requires official fast charger
I ordered this Galaxy S9+ as an alternative to buying dex station which is more expensive. After connecting it to my phone and monitor, it immediately recognized the phone asking if I wanted to proceed to mirror it on screen or go into full DEX mode. Keep in mind you also need to have your phone in with the original fast charger of the phone while using it. Without power it will only mirror your screen, match your rotation and transmit audio. But when in full DEX function your phone delivers a whole new computing experience by bringing out an operating system which is actually your phone's user interface presented in a window-like form. I use it with a USB mouse I plug into Nexjack and a Bluetooth keyboard which connects directly to my phone. One thing I noticed, 4K desktop mode is not yet supported by DEX, so this will output only up to 2560x1440/2K resolution. Regardless, this is a massive improvement over original dex station that supports only 1080p. It's now far more usable on a 4K monitor. At half the price of the original and the new version of dex station, I highly recommend it.

Works great with everything, despite vague instructions
Works very well with my Galaxy S9, and supports DeX mode, though I've used it to play Super Nintendo games through my phone on my TV with a USB controller. It can do that just fine. It even works with my Nintendo Switch, to my surprise, though I haven't tested it extensively. I could play Smash Bros. Ultimate for about an hour with no trouble. An important thing to know that the description and instructions don't make clear: You NEED to have your phone & Switch's power adapter plugged in when you use this! It will not display anything on your TV without it! Though the USB hub does work without power, if you need to plug in something to your phone on the go. And DO NOT MIX UP YOUR POWER ADAPTERS!!! If you plan to use this with both your Switch and your phone, just unplug the power every time you're done. I don't want to risk frying anything, and neither do you. After a week, I'm pretty happy with this little adapter. I really hope it holds up.

Not exactly as shown in the pictures...
I've been using this nexjack for a while now, it's pretty great so far but I have noticed something with the nexjack that I ordered. Firstly, it's does not look exactly like how it appears in pictures, which is unfortunate. The cable portion of the nexjack adapter as shown in the pictures is a flat wire but the one I received has a cable portion that's cylindrical and really stiff instead of the flat style shown in the pictures. I'm wondering if I got an older model or something. It works fairly well but it is upsetting that it's not exactly as advertised.

Worked fine at first but there are issues with resolution and speed
First off the device design is excellent because of the dongle style. Just like a previous reviewer, it works without taking the case off (the main reason I purchased it). When I first hooked it up it was perfect. I used it for a couple of hours, went to lunch and now when I plug my phone in I get a resolution error message and the screen is nearly unreadable. I uploaded a screenshot of the message, but wasn't able to get an picture of my screen while the phone was connected. (EDIT: a screenshot of the real display is now uploaded).I also noticed that the Dex application loaded slower compared to my original Dex dock, by about a second. And the interface was noticeably less responsive too. You can see lag while moving the cursor and opening apps with the dongle but the Dex dock is very smooth and responsive to clicks.Amazon tech support replaced the unit for me in case I received a bad one, but the second one which came today is doing the exact same thing.Overall a great idea and I love the design. The quality issue and slower speed make me want to just keep using my original Dex dock even though it takes up more space in my bag. I'm afraid I'll be returning the 2nd unit as well.
