UPDATE 2: It's been 5 years now and it's still going strong. Nothing has broken, not even a tab (lug) like I had previously written someone complained about. It was an incredible $19.00 purchase and even at the new price of $26.00 it's still and incredible investment.UPDATE: I've had this for almost 2 years now, using it 3-4 times per week for a breakfast smoothie. I've had no issues with it at all, however I thought I'd try something with more power in case I wanted to make a frozen drink, so I decided to order a Ninja BN301 Nutriblender for $60. Here are the differences:This blender is 300w, the Ninja is 600wThis blender makes a smoothie in 15-20 seconds, the Ninja makes a smoothie in 15-20 seconds. This blender's blades aren't as sharp at the Ninja blade, but the difference in the end product is barely noticeable. This blender has the threads for screwing on the cutter blades and cap on the outside, like a normal jar. The Ninja has the threads on the inside, causing them to get filled with smoothie when removing the cutting blades and attaching the pour or storage cap. Why would they design it that way?The one and only improvement of the Ninja over this blender is the hole size of the pour spout is about three times larger.I'm sending the Ninja BN301 back.I have a big Cuisinart blender which I rarely use because it's too much of a hassle for most of my needs.I was going to purchase the Hamilton Beach personal blender, but with 175 watts, it seemed a bit too light duty. This unit with 300 watts seemed a bit more appropriate.First, let me state that I own the above big blender, a Cuisinart food processor and a Cuisinart immersion blender. I bought the LaReveuse Smoothies Blender just for that purpose, smoothies.Secondly, let me address some comments made by other users:1. Tab(s) breaking off. The jar has three tabs (lugs) that allow the jar to lock in place on the motor base. I have no idea how you break one of these off. Really, given the stoutness of the material and the location of the lugs, I really can't fathom how you could break one off. Even if you did break one or more tabs off, they sell replacement jars, lids and blades on Amazon.2. To address the comment of another reviewer, the locking tabs (lugs) not only lock the jar into place, they are part of the "switch" for the motor. The motor base does not have a visible switch. Align the locking tabs (lugs) with the slots on the motor base and push down for momentary on. Ease up on the pressure and the ...motor turns off. If you want the motor to stay on (no more than 1 minute per the manufacturer), simply push down, give the jar a slight clockwise turn and Voila, it stays on. To turn of, simply turn the jar a slight turn counter clockwise. So if you don't want the motor turning on when you plug the unit in place, don't lock the jar on the motor. Pretty simple.3. Addressing the comment that the jar is too flexible. Really? ...REALLY? No it isn't as firm as a glass jar (won't break like glass either), but it isn't a plastic bag either. It has a SLIGHT flex if you really squeeze it. If you handle it like I think most people will, you won't notice any flex at all.Okay, enough of all that, how well does it work? As said, I bought this to make smoothies. My typical smoothie consists of something like the following: 1 peach (skin on), 1/2 banana, big handful of blueberries, 1 individual serving cup (5.3 oz) of yogurt (plain or some fruit flavored) and maybe 1/4 to 1/3 cup of low-fat milk. Toss all that in, screw on the blade cap, set the jar on the motor base and gently press down. I pulse it a few times (2-3 seconds per pulse, just like you would a full size blender), then I leave it on for about 10-15 seconds. DONE!That's it, and for 20 bucks, how could anyone possibly complain?

Good

I like this mixture but if it had the option to turn on and off it would be easier.

I've had this blender for 5 years

I bought this little blender for smoothies in July of 2020. It's now May of 2025. I have been using this thing almost daily since I bought it. It works great. It's super easy and convenient to use. Easy to clean. In fact in couldn't be easier to clean. I'm thinking of buying another just in case this one goes out, but I've had it for 5 years and it works great still.

Amazing!

Blends ice just fine! I was a little nervous about that, since a lot of compact blenders tend to fall short there. But a full glass makes about 24oz of smoothie! So happy with this purchase.

Update: Now It's Broken. Original Review: Motor Seems Fine; Bottle Too Narrow; Cap Annoying

Aug. 15, 2024 update pertaining to the black and silver version mentioned in my original review below: About two weeks have passed since I wrote my original review. A few days ago, the blade's seal began failing; my smoothies began to leak through to the exterior of the screw-on blade attachment. Then yesterday, while I was blending another smoothie, the blender stopped on its own; one of the three plastic prongs extending from the bottle had broken off during blending, and another one had broken but was still attached. Hopefully I can get my money back.I bought a black silver one for me, to replace old and worn-out Magic Bullet, and a pink one for my daughter, for her birthday. We like the colors. Having used mine almost daily for about one month, I find::) The motor is strong enough thus far to blend ice and frozen fruits into my smoothies.:) Overall, it's compact and convenient to use and store.:( The bottle is too narrow to wash easily, even with my small hands.:( The cap is unusually hard for me to open. I do not overtighten it, but it's extremely difficult to unscrew.:( The rubber-plastic stopper on the cap popped apart this week, with no mishandling on my part. I found the two parts, but snapping them back together isn't a permanent solution; it sometimes pops apart again upon me opening it.

Updated to the current model.

But there were not many changes.I had been reviewing several juicers, but soon realized that juicers were discarding solid parts of the items being juiced. Didn't make sense to me, but that is juicing. I was more interested in blending fruits and what I could not blend (carrots) I could just eat (go figure). So I researched blenders - La Reveuse was one of items and was top rated. I had one and the reviews on it were well written, giving info that I was not ware of.So, now have a shiny new La Reveuse blender nd could not be happier.FWIW, I'm on a Paleo diet now with some Square One diet, exercise and various anti-cancer coaching.

O.k. for thin shakes/ protein drinks.

Not enough power per my requirements (protein powder, powdered pumpkin seed, ground chia seeds, milk, soft fruit) Wouldn't puree even soft (not frozen) fruits?? Would be a great little blender for just milk & powders but didn't work for me. Hassle free Return.
