Great meter system
Overall:Great meter system that just happens to be at a great price. Compact design and happy color scheme, because let’s face it stabbing your finger and testing blood sugar is not the happiest activity. Strips are affordable. Readings are accurate.Sync:Sync to Agamatrix app is much more convenient than the previous model (I had the CVS branded version). I share app data with Apple Health, and then sync to MySugr app which has more options for recording data and reporting. Glooko app is not compatible with sharing data via Apple Health, which is unfortunate because my doctor’s office uses Glooko. Anyways, the sync setup is nearly seamless. Every once in awhile sync doesn’t work — here is a workaround to fix:0. Open app first, then turn on meter1. turn off Apple Health sharing in settings2. closing app3. restart Agamatrix appI assume it is a bug somewhere between Apple and Agamatrix that will be eventually fixed in some update(s).Accuracy:Other reviewers compare this meter to other less accurate meters and claim that this one is inaccurate. This meter is accurate and exceeds FDA requirements for BG meters (ref), because it corrects for hematocrit (red blood count) and other variables using the magic of the frequency domain. The strips are cheaper because their simpler design enables faster, cheaper manufacturing. This is the same tech as the One Drop meter sold at the Apple Store with upscale finish, cute leather carrying case, slick app, and upmarket price point. Interesting example of perceived quality with luxury goods.

Inexpensive, quick, and easy glucometer that does not sync as advertised due to software bugs
This is a fine glucometer as a stand-alone product; it works quickly and is easy to read and I do use it quite a bit. However, it suffers from flaky bluetooth connectivity and the app no longer syncs with apple Health app. Test strips are inexpensive and the device appears accurate as compared with other testing methods. The bluetooth flakiness is new since iOS 13 this past september; I periodically delete the iPhone app and un-pair the reader and then start over and sometimes this works for a while. it is frustrating to have to manually sync to get the reads into the provided Agamatrix app (this appears to be a re-badged Agamatrix glucometer that amazon sells under the Choice label). With regard to the iOS app and its connectivity to Apple Health...this was always tricky and has not worked at all for me, for more than a month. Their app developer was initially responsive, but I never heard back from them after a brief interaction. In the past I could delete the app and re-install it, and this would fix things for a bit. But this no longer fixes anything. In the app store, developers appear to have stopped replying to individual reviews, and the app isn't updated frequently despite the bugginess of its data syncing. The reader is inexpensive and if it worked would be a no brainer to recommend, but I wonder if there are better alternatives out there. The consumables are inexpensive and this is important, but at this point I'm manually tracking my readings which defeats the purpose of getting a blue-tooth connected glucometer!

Readings to inaccurate
I want to live this meter. It’s the right size, it’s the right price, it connects via Bluetooth to the great OneDrop app. The price for supplies is also great: cheaper than the copay through my insurance.I’m sure the meter is showing me accurately what the test strips are reading, but therein lies the problem. The readings are wildly inconsistent. Opened a new vial of strips and my readings jumped about 25 points higher. Ordered control solution and another vial of strips to verify. New vial seems lower, but still higher than the Verio provided by my insurance. However, the next morning it showed me as extremely low so I retested and the second reading was over 40 points higher! This doesn’t seem to be an issue with the meter, but rather with inconsistencies in the strips. All strips tested had the same expiration date of May 2020, though different lots. This is January 2020, so I’m wondering why I’m getting strips with that short a life and if that’s part of the issue. Will put this aside and try again after I’m sure I will get strips from a different date.

bought as backup, it's decent
Bought this one as a backup for my boyfriend because he needs to check himself more often than the VAMC will send him strips for. Checked him with this, and then with his Accu-Check Aviva Plus. There was a fourteen point difference, which considering he was way high isn't terribly surprising. My Accu-Check and his have a three to four point difference so for this one to be a bit less precise isn't surprising. We need ballpark ranges, and this gets us exactly what we need. If you need pinpoint precision you'll need a more expensive meter, but if you have a little wiggle room in your readings this will get you what you need.

Ease of use, cost of test strips, & ability to track results
The setup was quick and simple. I downloaded the app and easily connected it to the monitor and as soon as I did my 1st test, the info was on my iPhone. I am a Type 1 diabetic and have been using the Freestyle Libre CGM but my new health insurance company will no longer pay for it so I needed a new monitor and after a lot of research I chose this 1. Part of the reason I chose it was that the test strips are reasonably priced and that is a big plus when you test as often as I do. I also bought the test strips but was a little unhappy to find out that they have an expiration date of 5-31-2020. But I’ll probably use them all within that time frame. So all is good.
