Calcium Comparison Summary
I have been looking for the **smallest** Calcium supplement everywhere for the last four years (2015).And it has been impossible to do a head-to-head comparison because the manufactures NEVER state the pill size on the bottle.Worse yet when you are in the drugstore looking at a dozen Calcium options, it becomes even more daunting.Well, I think I've found some of the SMALLEST ones in the market, and love to get your feedbacks if you find something smaller for me to try.As illustrated in my photos (LEFT to RIGHT) and Prices as of Feb 2019.Citracal Petiteshttps://www.amazon.com/Citracal-Digested-Supplement-Relatively-Swallow/dp/B0043ZLTT4Approx $10 for 200 CountAs in the picture, the shape is longer but narrower. In each caplet, 200mg Calcium (calcium citrate), 250 IU Vitamin D.Nature Made Calcium Petites 200 Mg with Vitamin D Softgelshttps://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0089X47WCApprox $14 for 180 CountAs in the picture, the shape is a completely 3D smooth oval and easy to swallow. In each softgel, 200mg Calcium (calcium carbonate), 400 IU Vitamin D3.Nature Made Calcium, Magnesium & Zinc w. My Favorite Cal/Mag Product!
In addition to the wonderful dark cocoa taste (which results in me looking forward to my dosages!) it seems so far to be a good supplemental product too. If you take the full 4 tablets per day you will get 100% recommended dosage of calcium for women up to age 50 (1000 mg) and 125% recommended for magnesium (500 mg). Even though the magnesium is a little high it's still within what is considered to be a safe amount. I have been taking it for almost a year now with no side effects. If you are over 50 (as I am,) and have any calcium in your diet, this supplement should be sufficient even though it is less than the 1200 mg recommended for women over 50. I don't always take the full 4 tablets -- I adjust the amount depending on what calcium-containing foods I eat that day (the advantage of spreading the dosages out throughout the day). One thing to note is that it is 2:1 Calcium Carbonate/Calcium Citrate and 2:1 Magnesium Oxide/Magnesium Citrate. I mention this because many people feel strongly about one over the other. I personally have no personal preference but I know that others do and might want to know this.I haven't had another bone density scan since starting on the Pioneer tablets, so I don't know the effect it has had on my bones, but my formerly paper-thin fingernails have become much stronger. My nails had been extremely weak and brittle my entire life. But since I've been taking this supplement they've grown much stronger and now I have to cut them on a regular basis so they don't get too long! That has NEVER happened with me before. And this is without changing anything in my diet. I'll edit my post and add a note once I have my next bone scan and see if there's been a difference in that area too.

Pioneer Chewable Calcum Magnesium, gluten free
After I found the package arrived and opened it, the bottle was broken. I waited a little while because I need someone to help me. My daughter who loves Amazon explained me how to do. After I sent message to Amazon. The next day I was told to send it back which I did last Thursday evening. Boy! what a fast delivery and it was in good shape this time yesterday, I believe.Since I was asked if it is easy to swallow, well. It actually is chewable, then swallow which is no problem.

Chewable
Chewable, large, easy to absorb. A little chalky but tolerable

Not bad for a chewable.
For myself, the taste is not too bad for a chewable. My taste buds are not very sharp since my sense of smell usually does not work so I'm not sure how others would like the taste. It does leave a mild chalky feeling in my mouth but I drink a lot of water to wash that away. It's is more expensive than I want to pay on a regular basis but I thought I'd try it since I have problems swallowing pills. It is sweetened with maltitol, xylitol and stevia and is gluten free. It also has Vitamin D3 and boron which help in absorption of the calcium and magnesium.

Chalky...
I'm old, I need calcium...so I bought this product. The tablets are the size between a nickel and quarter but thicker. They are easy to chew but chalky. The "chocolate" taste isn't bad but it's not good either. What I don't like is that several...like way too many...of the tablets are broken into little pieces. So, even though the bottle states there are 90 tablets, I'm thinking there are actually only 80/85 that are usable (I didn't actually count them). For that reason, I will not be buying again.

I'm a believer after using this for several months
I had suffered from nocturnal leg cramps for months, primarily in my bicep muscle (behind the thigh). These cramps were incredibly intense and disruptive, and sometimes recurred several times in a night. I began taking this supplement after doing some research and had not had a single recurrence until a few nights ago (when I had forgotten to take it for about a week). The only other significant modification I made was drinking a glass of water every night before retiring, so it is not entirely possible to attribute the success to this supplement alone, although I feel it is a major factor.
