Clubman Pinaud After Shave Lotion, 6 fl oz

In these days of extreme political correctness, I realize that I am about to run the risk of being called binary or narrow-minded. Apparently, I'm willing to take the risk, though. Here we go. This product is pure boss. It smells manly and not light, flowery, or fruity. I am not criticizing those scents; I'm merely pointing out that this is not the fragrance to expect with this product. My wife bought me something from one of those bath stores before; it smells like some type of lemon-cleaner. This product, however, smells like an old-school barbershop might. That might turn off some people, but it was an attribute to me. It actually makes me look forward to shaving.

This is hands down my favorite after shave. Now, I wear a full beard and so it only gets splashed on my neck; but it's non-abrasive and it smells like man. It's a classic "older" scent (I'm 46) that is slightly powdery/musky without being as strong/pungent as Brut (which I also like). The only concern I initially had (after a few years layoff) was that the scent seemed a little weaker than in years past. But when I don't add any other scents, I realize that this is definitely not the case. At 16 oz, these bottles last a while.Peace.

What's not to like about Clubman? The stuff has been around since 1810, crazy. I love putting this on the teenager's and younger customers and watching their noses turn up. NOW you smell like a man, just your Grandpa and Dad. That always get's a disgusting look on their face. :-)Edit: I use it for an air freshener in the shop, spray it on the rugs. Geezus, this stuff is awesome!!!!

Smells good. A manly scent with hints of a citrus aroma.Burns like hell with you apply it. Tightens up the skins and closes the pores.Young people will tell you it smells great. But if you tell them what it is, they change their attitude and say it smells like their grandpa. They probably have no idea how their grandpa smells.So if you're a millennial and you wear this, and you get compliments (don't worry, you will), don't say what it is when you are asked. Instead, make up something that sounds French or Italian and tell them that's what it is. Then snicker to yourself as your chums scour the Internet trying to find it.

Bought this after shave on just a chance and some positive reviews. I was using a Brut after shave prior and thought it was OK but was looking for something slightly more refreshing and masculine. This after shave has the exact scent I was hoping for. Feels great on my freshly shaven face. Doesn't smell like some whimpy generic after shave, but is more like a 'look at me that manly scent is coming from this way' type scent. Will recommend to others and it's awesome you can purchase in 16oz size.

I searched for Bay rum and ordered two different bottles expecting to compare the scents. I use to really like the scent of the old Barbershop brand of Bay Rum and have been searching for a comparable product. I did not realize this was not Bay Rum. That is on me for not reading the literature close enough and a little on Amazon because they should filter out anything other than the requested search item. I do sort of like this scent but just was expecting something different. Barbershop went out of business many years ago so I wasn't really expecting to find what I was looking for on the first try but was hopeful. I will still use this product because it does still remind me of a scent that My Dad's Barber use to have and used a lot. I remember him sitting me on a makeshift cushion seat on a board across the arms of the barbershop chair and giving me a haircut and a fake shave when I was a small child. After the fake shave, he would wipe off any shave cream with a rag then flap a whisker brush around all over my face and slap a little aftershave on me. Then he'd give me a piece of Double bubble bubble gum and say two bits, please! At which time my Father would pay him. That was about forty-seven years ago. Loved those days. And I do believe this is one of those scents of aftershave. Hopefully, though the next bottle coming is the Bay rum scent I remember. Should know by Friday night. and it too is one of yours, so I'll give it a review as well.

I was quite surprised,others is a short burn down then it cools off, it has a pleasant smell. It took two times to get used to it. I've used the same brand with Bay Rim it burned all The time. You have to take into consideration I have sensitive skin even at my age 76in12 days. So I've gone through plenty of after shaves. I'm glad I bought the bigger bottle for just a couple bucks more!

I bought this to display in my "man-shave-cabinet" and to smell the 'old time barbershop' smell every once in a while. I will not use it for aftershave because it has skin-drying alcohol in it. There are many good balms available for aftershave. I like it for a display piece though.I also display a brush/bowl/fancy case from the 1920s, Old Spice bottle with the ship from the mid-1900s, and a new tin of Sir Hare shaving soap. No idea if the soap works but who doesn't want a rabbit with its ears up. wearing a top hat, monocle and nice sweater displayed. Have old razors and a couple of brass deer too. May as well make shaving more fun. The Clubman Pinaud adds to the atmosphere with nostalgia, color and smell. Sometimes I leave the cap off for a while.

Performance is poor as it is a cologne but very fresh for just after you shave for a barbershop feel.

I recently got back into traditional shaving with a double edged safety razor, and heard great things from various YouTube instructional shaving videos about Clubman Aftershave, especially how cheap it was for something that smelled so good. I decided to invest in a bottle, and it's glorious stuff. It's a shame it's not more easily available in the UK, but the big bottle I bought will last me a lot of shaves.
