Pumpkin Masters Kid's Fright Lights

This was the most fun I have had pumpkin decorating, ever, I think. The results are beautiful. It is easy. I was able to push them through the pumpkin without even using the mallet. They are super safe.I was not able to find them in any of my local stores.

This kit is a good idea for little kids but it was too hard to pound the lights in for my 2 yo and she didn't quite have the dexterity to put the tees in the holes but I think she did feel included and the look is fun! I was disappointed that there weren't enough purples to do both eyes of the cat outline they provided in purple. In fact there weren't enough of any one color for any feature but the cat mouth and nose. They should indicate colors if they aren't providing enough! The colors look more red in the dark but it's pretty cool. The battery holder is lame and requires a 9 volt but the battery gets stuck in the casing. We decided to ignore the purple casing and just use the top. The quality is cheap for the price and when I got it was only $10. Would not pay $13+

I enjoy these kits very much. The results are usually great and the kids enjoy doing it, however, it's very disappointing when you don't get enough pegs to copy the picture. Also sad that we cannot get extra pegs. Maybe next year they'll be available again.

I paid around $5 for this kit at Meijer. The kit is simple to use. I used an awl to punch the pre-provided pattern. Then our 3 and 4 year old sons inserted the pegs and pounded them in. The light requires a 9 volt battery. At first I thought it was malfunctioning till I realized it was intentionally flashing. My guess is that it stays lit for a half second and is dark for 3 seconds. I found it more satisfying just to stick a constant light inside so you could admire the pattern, but the boys were thrilled to watch it flash. Inserting the pegs allowed them to feel like they were a part of the process instead of simply watching me try to carve. I appreciated the fact that I suffered no knife injuries while using this product. I'd love to find these on sale and pass them along to friends with young children.

This is a great idea for small kids, no carving. However, this is the most ridiculous price I have ever seen. They are clearly price gouging, just go to walmart or target
