So messy, but read on!
I am reviewing this from 2 perspectives: one is mine and one is my sisters. My perspective is...nope. I thought this would be fun to use on my teeth, but when I opened, he plastic container in my bathroom, it blew up like a black mist + fine glitter, so already annoyed. But I did test it by dipping my wet toothbrush in it and brushed my teeth. Did it "work"? It was fine and rinsed away. I put it away.Fast-forward after 2 months of sitting on a shelf the powder had relaxed, and the container looked to be 1/2 full so not nearly as messy and full of air. I delivered to my sister, who loves everything "all-natural", and she loves it. She uses it to brush her teeth and make masks (she YouTubed it).So, everyone is different! Me? Zero patience. The sis? Loves it.

Works well!
So this is very finally ground activated charcoal. Good for soaps, toothbrushing face or hair mask. I do recommend not using it on its own, but putting it into a simple mixture whether it’s apple cider vinegar for masks or aloe vera or your own toothpaste base but it’s definitely made to go in something not just used alone and I don’t recommend just using it with water for maximum effectiveness. Just like any charcoal it does kind of spread and will leave a temporary stain so you have to be very careful when handling maybe use a small scoop but I am very happy with my first use of this. I used it in a hair mask mixed with bentonite clay, and it made the mixture very smooth. Bentonite clay is already smooth, but this just made it very creamy smooth. It made my hair mask last longer rather than drying up and when I rented it out it left my strands soft and cleaned without being dry or stripped. Can’t wait to use it in more recipes. I had no adverse effects with it nothing that has burned my skin nothing that has hurt me in anyway very good product.

For Soap Making🤩🎉💕
This activated charcoal creates a Great Black color in soap and it’s such a good detox for skin! However, it must be used in small amounts and you must be careful where you mix it because if spilled it can make a mess! I like to put down brown paper when I do my soap making because of this. For MP soap making (Melt and Pour) which is what I do, you use it at a rate of up to .5 teaspoons per pound of soap so that you don’t get a gray lather. Yes, it is not a black but rather a gray color at this usage. I add black mica to make the soap darker towards black and give it a shine which is beautiful!😍I will be trying cold pressed soap making next. For this, the usage rate is up to 1TBS per pound of oils so it’s very different in the amount! At 2 teas., it starts giving a grayish lather. And for this technique you can achieve a black color through gelling the soap. Gelling is done by insulating/keeping the soap warm awhile right after pouring. To do this, you can put it in a warm oven, or put it on a heating pad set to medium for a half hour. So, for the DIYer, this 2 ounce pack of deactivated charcoal can go reasonably far for experimentation but you’ll need a larger size if you really enjoy the process and want to do more.🤩🎉💕

Bamboo Charcoal
I am happy to have a good chunk of activated charcoal loose powder on hand, not in pill form, and I prefer bamboo derived. So essential to always have some at home. Of course it's important to have on hand in the event of food poisoning, but also I am starting to make my own diy make-up, and this is a pertinent ingredient for many recipes. This came in a messy bag inside of the box so I moved it right into a glass jar and now it is very accessible for all my needs.
