Received flavorless powder, and worst of all, maybe made BP go up and gave me headaches.
I'm a coffee addict. There; I've said it. Starting with all-nighters in college (lotsa sugar and cream) to years in the Navy (black and bitter), a morning cup of Joe or two is required when I start my day.I normally like my coffee black, but sometimes like a flavor or two for a change of pace. I saw these "Hazelnut" flavored packets and figured I'd give them a go. Adding vitamins to the powder just made them better, or so I thought.First of all, the description says I'm ordering Hazelnut, but what was delivered was most definitely marked "Unflavored"...disappointing...but, I could always use a little jolt of vitamins and other items to supercharge my morning, right? When I've tried energy drinks in the past (Red Bull, 5-Hour-Energy), I haven't liked the way they made me feel, and how they made my heart race. These packets didn't seem to have anything other than vitamins, and after all, I take vitamins, right? So, I added them to several day's worth of coffee. There really is no taste...no way to tell the powder is even in the coffee...I wait for a little boost, and don't notice anything...wait and wait...and nothing. Day after day, no sign of anything...EXCEPT...After a couple days of adding the powder, my blood pressure was noticeably higher, and worst of all, I started getting night time headaches...one so severe I had to get up and take a couple Advil. I also has residual smaller headaches throughout the day. Now, I have no way of knowing if the VitaPerk caused these headaches, but a few days out from ceasing the addition of the powder to my coffee, the headaches, nocturnal and day time, are completely gone.In summary, no added flavor, and a possible negative health impact. Thanks but no thanks.

First of all, I was supposed to get hazelnut ...
First of all, I was supposed to get hazelnut. Instead I received flavorless. That doesn't do much for me at all. What's the point of flavorless drink additive? Yes, I realize it's supposed to have vitamins and energy, but this isn't something I really notice and I'm not bouncing off the walls after drinking it. I don't seem any more energetic than usual. On the bright side I also didn't get ill from it.

a beginner's source of multi-vitamins -- no energy boast, no flavor
I mixed a packet of Vita Perk together with a packet of Starbucks VIA Italian Roast and a packet of Italian Roast Decaf. A total of three packets into one large mug.I was asked to review the Vita Perk Hazelnut Flavor -- but I was sent the Original Flavorless Vita -- I think by mistake. Naturally, my Vita was flavorless. The coffee's taste was unaffected. I think other reviewers also got the Flavorless version, thinking they were getting the Hazelnut version, which is why they expressed surprise that they couldn't taste any Hazelnut. This Vita is an okay, BASIC multi-vitamin source. It's the usual breakdown, the sort you see on multi-vitamin bottles. Which means some of the elements are under-represented.Vita Perk offers 15 IU of Vitamin E. Not enough. You should take 400 to 1,000 IU of E a day, simultaneously with 200 mcg of Selenium (E and Selenium 400 enhance each other's benefits). Vita Perk contains no Selenium.Vita Perk offers only 12 mcg of Chromium. I take 200 mcg a day.And 10,000 IU of Vitamin A. That's a good amount. And 200 IU of D3. I take 5,000 IU a day.And 30 mg of Vitamin C. I take several thousand mg of C a day, spaced out throughout the day.And varying amounts of the various Bs, though not enough of some of them. I want at least 100 mg of every B.So the level of vitamins and minerals per pack is low. This is an okay supplement for the casual user, but not for those who are serious about supplements. And Vita Perk gave me no energy increase.

Appealing Alternative to a Multivitamin Plus Second Cup of Coffee
The idea of a powder that you can add to your morning coffee, delivering an extra boost of energy as well as a dose of your daily vitamins, has a definite appeal. It did indeed deliver a modest energy boost to my morning cup of coffee, about the equivalent to what I would receive from a second cup. The flavorless version of the product is undetectable in your coffee and, at least for me, yields no other noticeable effects. I also received the hazelnut flavored version of the product from the manufacturer, in exchange for me agreeing to review that version. For me, the hazelnut flavoring is pleasing enough to bump my review from three to four stars, as it acts as a good sweetener for those who like a little sugar in their coffee, in addition to providing the extra energy boost and vitamin content. The supplement facts on the product package read very much like a daily multivitamin, with the addition of 10mg Guarana Extract. Guarana is a seed that yields twice the amount of caffeine as a coffee bean. So that extra energy boost simply reflects the additional caffeine delivered by the Guarana. (Note that Guarana is considered to be safe in low doses like this and may have other positive effects on your heart and mental focus.)In deciding whether to buy this product, you might want to consider whether it would be cheaper to stick with your daily vitamin and an extra cup of java or Guarana supplement. Note that I have also revised my initial review to reflect what the manufacturer tells me is the true retail price ($4.99 for a seven-pack) rather than the higher price currently shown on Amazon's page.
