I kind of love this thing....
We started air drying a lot of our clothing several years ago but were just hanging the articles of clothing over the railing in the loft, which always made for hasty semi dry laundry removal whenever someone stopped by or came over. One of my sons decided to get me one of those wooden drying racks for Mother's Day last year, which though it was purchased with the best of intentions, ended up basically being a glorified Jenga set. If you hung something too heavy on it or bumped one of the dowels, the whole freaking thing would come tumbling down - wet laundry and all. I never knew that I could put so many curse words together to form an entire sentence until we started using that thing. Finally, enough was enough and because I loved the concept of a clothes drying rack but hated my stupid unstable tower of overgrown Lincoln Logs, I started looking at various racks on here. After viewing several different items and checking out their reviews, we ended up with this little gem. It came in an enormous box and was pretty much already completely assembled. Basically, a toddler could have done what little assembley is required, which involves just unfolding the rack itself and then placing the top of the rack into each side piece. I think it took literally 30 seconds from start to finish. It's super sturdy, holds several large articles of clothing at once and is about as aesthetically pleasing as a drying rack can be. I'm so glad that I bought this one!

Two out of two failed within months
Junk. I've owned two. The first one lasted a few months before it started getting wobbly and the rods began falling out. The second lasted about a month before the same thing started happening. You can only put them back together so many times before it's best just to buy a new one. I had an old wooden one that lasted for more than a decade so for two of these to fail after basic use with nothing but typical laundry items/clothes being hung on them is pretty sad. Replaced the most recent one with a Honey-Can-Do Heavy Duty Gullwing Drying Rack which has held up well and is exponentially better.

Buyer Beware: Two rods broken after 1 1/2 years of infrequent use
FOLLOW UP ON PREVIOUS REVIEWThe customer service at the Whitmore Company is amazing. Knowing I could not return this item through Amazon because of their ridiculous return time policy I called the company directly. They sent me a brand new foldable drying rack. I would buy anything from this company in the future.Purchased this back in March 2017. I use it infrequently and leave it by the dryer. All of a sudden two of the rods broke off and I cannot figure out how to put it back together. It is nearly impossible because you cannot bend the rods. I know it's not expensive but it should have lasted longer than 1 1/2 years I am still able to hang clothes to dry but it's clearly not well made.

Dries a lot of laundry! -- But broke after a few months' use
So far so good. The pros: The rack requires no assembly, folds up/ down easily, is lightweight. Also, the white finish is clean and I don't envision any way it could bleed onto clothes (like wood ones sometimes do). It is sturdy, even when loaded up with wet clothes - WAY sturdier than my ancient wood one. The only con is that my rack arrived with two bars warped/ bent. This doesn't impact its performance, and a drying rack is not intended to be handsome, but imperfection in anything new is annoying! Overall, it seems like a sturdy, clean rack that should dry much laundry for a long time.UPDATE: After regular use for some months, this rack has broken. Putting it back together is a frustrating chore, and the middle bars on top just won't stay snapped together, which makes the whole thing unsteady. (Incidentally the bars that broke are the ones that arrived warped/bent...coincidence?) Originally, I used this rack to hang heavier clothes - jeans and the like. Now it's only good for dish towels and socks. Very disappointed.

Sturdy product - great for smaller spaces
This drying rack is perfect for small spaces. I recently moved into a smaller apartment with a VERY small laundry room, and needed something that was sturdy and also had a small footprint. There is literally no assembly required - you open the package, lift up the top, and hook the clasp onto the top bar. When you're finished, you unhook the top bar and it folds down neatly. There is enough space to dry a LOT more items that it looks. It has help up to heavier sweaters, towels, and other assorted clothing items all at once with no wobbling or collapsing. They designed the rack bars smartly. Great product for a great price - would recommend!

Easy to manage, compact storage, super-fast to set up
There are a lot of drying racks on the market. This one expands and the top bar clips easily in place, even if you have limited hand strength. The size makes it perfect for a small apartment, or in our case, placing outside on a small back steps area, where it's in direct sunlight in the morning.I've had 2 others like this, one from IKEA, one purchased at Aldi. The others were left outside in the rain, and eventually rusted (and you don't want rust transferring to the clothes). I don't blame the products for that, but needless to say, none of these are meant to be left outside, and this one is not going to suffer the same fate!Simple, inexpensive, and saves money over the course of the year not using the dryer so much - also saving your clothes, elastic bands, and colors from fading. Plus, this is easy to use with any type of clothespins/clips, and fits a full load of laundry from a regular sized (vs. high capacity) washer.Excellent value, easy to use, easy to store. Nice!

Poorly Constructed
I purchased this rack to replace my wooden one when it broke. I had been using the wooden rack for20 years without any problems. Unfortunately, this rack began to fall apart within about a month or so and it was too late to return it. The bars that go across started to come apart from where they connect to the screws. I have continued to refasten them with a screwdriver and they continue to come undone. Junk!

Impossible to assemble. Literally.
Some of the poles were the wrong length- it took an hour of frustration and splinters to realize it wasn't me! The poles were labeled correctly based on the diagram, but there was absolutely no way it was actually going together. Cheap, splintery wood, too. Absolute junk. Replaced it with a $10 rack from Walmart that's much better quality.

unfold easily and with a click stays in place
unfold easily and with a click stays in place. It's outside on our deck, on a sunny day, drying out the clothes, which now need to be done in this way since our dryer broke last week. This reminds me of my childhood days with the laundry on the line, or on a variety of racks, over time. A nostalgic moment washing across the memory-heart. Looks good, easy to use and store. Nice product.
