After not picking up a needle for over 25 years, I was eager to find a good beginner-friendly embroidery kit to ease back into the craft. I ordered this kit because I am teaching myself embroidery. This is such a great kit to learn. It comes with printed pieces of fabric with a guide on the different stitches. It teaches you about such a variety of stitches, which is so helpful when starting out. Came with a set of needles and thread of various colors. Highly recommend.

Not only did it contain 5 different printed patterns on good quality fabric, but the instructions with pictures were wonderful! The hoop is made out of plastic and feature a groove in it that help hold you fabric tight and in place. The set comes with all the embroidery floss you need to complete your projects, several needles, a needle threader, and a small pair of scissors. The scissors are on the cheaper side, but they get the job done. Before I could even start the needle threader broke as well as the needle itself. Returned immediately

The set is really nice and includes so much that it’s almost forgivable that the needles are awful. It includes detailed instructions, pre-printed patterns and all the thread that you could need.Full disclosure, if there was a step flower than beginner… That’s where my skill level falls and for the most part, the instructions are pretty clear although I did have to google a few of the different stages to get clarification. If you’re a visual learner, find yourself a beginner, YouTube video and skip the printed instructions.The pattern quality is really good and I had no problems getting it put in the hoop and getting it tightened how it was supposed to be and the thread that comes with it is pretty good quality.My issue is with the needles… The set includes a 15 pack of “Milliners 3/9” needles. Again because I’m a beginner, I’m sure that there is a reason they sent a package of varying length needles, although there’s nothing in the instructions to indicate which needle you should be using for which project. A little research did help me figure out longer ones are better for the more advanced stitches that you need to wrap, but that would’ve been nice to have in the directions. My biggest issue with the needles is that a few of them can’t be threaded (even with the included threader) because the “eyes” are not open all the way. I don’t really know how to better explain it, but it looks like there’s extra material stuck where you’re supposed to put the thread, like perhaps a manufacturer issue. Out of the 15 needles, only six of them have eyes big enough that they were useable. I did do a few stitches with what remained but I I tossed all of needles that came with it and went to my local craft store and picked up a 15 pack of the same “Milliners 3/9” needles and did not have the same issue with threading, so it’s definitely a quality thing with regard to the needles and not a user error.I started giving this a 3star rating because the needle thing was really annoying and honestly, the quality of everything else doesn’t really matter if you can’t actually use the main component needed to do the project, but when taking into consideration the quality of everything else, along with the quantity of supplies, and the fact that I probably could have made good with the six needles that were actually usable. I feel like it deserves the four star rating over a three star rating.

Been using this for a new hobby! the instructions aren't the best but you can you tube with ease so no issue there. wish this kit was more durable but its a good trial into the hobby before spending real money on something that lasts. The pressed in nut on the ring fell out so i had to use a regular nut and the thread puller broke. but at this price point not even upset. The set of 5 fabrics give plenty of practice!
