Funnel S/Steel

This funnel is much more heavy duty (thicker steel) than any I've owned before. I bought the 6 inch diameter size, to avoid spilling liquids over the side, as had happened with other, smaller diameter funnels I had used. This funnel has two features that my other funnels don't have: 1) a grooved channel down the outside of the lower section, that allows air to escape from the container you're filling with liquid (this allows faster transfer of the liquid), & 2) a permanent screen inside the funnel, that provides a degree of filtering, to keep foreign objects from being transferred along with the liquid. Note that this screen has a rather large grid, so it only filters out larger objects; it's made of thick steel, not like a mesh screen that is used in some other funnels. Very well constructed, & sturdy.

This funnel has a permanently attached filter in the throat. I wondered if it might from another review, however ordered it anyway, as the description said nothing about this. The filter is basically a piece of metal with several holes punched through it. My husband tried to remove this piece and the whole funnel started to bend, with no sign of the weld breaking to release the filter!Other then that, it is a sturdy and nice funnel, if you don't mind the filter.

expensive but quality is definitely there, although there is a filter that seems to be welded into place. It was not mentioned but personally it doesn't matter.
