Q: is this a good size for small dog

I guess it all depends upon how small the dog is. This Diamond Plate Orbee ball is 3.25" diameter which considerably larger than a standard tennis ball. It is about half way between a baseball and a softball. It fits in a size large ChuckIt! ball launcher. My 75lbs German shepherd likes it a lot! But that is not to say a much small dog would not find this ball fun. My best guess is that any dog over 20lbs and under 100lbs would find this ball to be a good size.

Q: How big is this ball? Also, is it soft or hard?

3 inches in height, 9 ¼ inches measured around with a tape measure. You can squeeze it. It's not soft and squishy but not rock hard either. My rottweiler can squeeze it in his mouth but the smaller 48 lb mix doesn't.

Not sure I would assume Amazon would also have a small size
