A must have support for any distillation setup
Excellent chain clamp that can accommodate a wide range of standard and custom lab equipment. Especially useful for securing tall condensing coil enclosures, cold traps, and columns. Vinyl coated head helps prevent scratches, and the chain is long enough to encompass most equipment you will probably run across. Needs a boss head to be secured to a rod or lattice support. If planning to use this on a stand, make sure the base of the stand is large and heavy. After wrapping the chain around the equipment you want secured, clip one of the chain links onto the pin next to the adjust wheel, turn wheel to tighten and secure. Lost one star due to price, and for requiring separate boss head.

Works great for securing but does not support a lot of weight.
If you are using this for any significant amount of weight you can expect the clamp to sag a bit. To counter this I just bought a second to distribute the load better. Even with a single, I was impressed at how well the welds held under the twisting and the screw clamp part has a nice easy smoothe action and has not loosened over 2 months of static use.

Great clamp for round glass
Great clamp for securing cold traps to lab stands. Needs a boss head for attaching to a rod. Vinyl coating prevents etching the glass. Chain is nice and sturdy and long enough to accommodate my biggest(5000ml) beakers when I need to attach them to my overhead mixers.

The chain was a bit too long for this application but the extra links were easily removed with pliers
We're using this clamp to hold a 6" diameter x 18" (battery) jar on a hot plate. The chain was a bit too long for this application but the extra links were easily removed with pliers. Just what we needed.

Very Handy
Very handy for holding large beakers. We have eliminated use of gripping lab clamps in favor of the Talboys chain clamp.
