Our food grade ammonium carbonate is “Baker’s Ammonia” consisting of ammonium carbonate, ammonium bicarbonate and ammonium carbamate. Also called for in baking recipes as "Hartshorn Salt". It is popularly used as a leavening agent for flat pastries. Useful note! Crush to use as smelling salts to revive a fainted person.

excellent as ingredient in fly attractant!
We raise goats which brings in flies and so we made some great fly traps that attract the flies and then they can't get out. Mixing the right amounts of baking yeast and ammonium carbonate creates the magic juice to attract the flies to the trap. Very effective and it only takes a couple of TB of the Ammonium Carb to make a gallon of attractant.
