Although it would be possible to just smash the box to pieces for the pills, it does provide the obstacle to prevent him from impulsively deciding to just take them all. It has worked well for several months, and the peace of mind is worth much more than the price of this box.If they plan to make a newer version of this device, I'd suggest maybe making the lock mechanism overlap a little more.
