Crafting using a separate blade

I use Swann Morten blades and they fit perfectly on this non-standard handle. Recommended

Fits the blades I have only issue is that the edges of the handle are very square - not sharp as in they cut you but sharp as in the handle isn't comfortable in the hand so doesn't feel like something I could use for a few hours at a time! Only purchased as currently misplaced my other handle which I bought 30 years ago and is wonderfully smooth and comfortable to hold.

Channel in the side of the blade holder is too narrow - blades will not slot into place need to be forced!!I could have posted a photo of today's half - installed blade covered in my blood, but that's just sour grapes. I should not have tried to fit a standard blade when the handle was clearly out-of-tolerance and the blade didn't snap into place at the first attempt.I have now managed to force the blade into place using a pair of point nosed pliers. I have owned many scalpel handles over the years (using them as craft knives) but this is simply the worst.Apart from the fact that the tolerances are wrong in the blade holder, this is a poorly finished handle with square -instead of rounded - edges. Like a piece of low cost cutlery, rather than the precision tool you expect with a scalpel.Having put a No.11 blade almost completely through my finger today I can definitely say "Do not buy this if you intend to install blades by hand"

This handle is just the right size for my hands (large) but would be equally good for those with smaller hands I'm sure. It's strong and holds the blades well. Excellent value for money.

It's mass production pressed out scalpel but it does the job an a good price so what more to like to be honest.
