Back in the early 90s plan B were one of the worldâ€TMs biggest board companies and brought out some of the most influential skate videos of all time such as Second hand Smoke, Virtual Reality and Questionable. These videos provided the foundation for modern skateboarding and still regarded as highly influential by many skaters today. The Plan B videos were the first to see Rodney Mullen adopt street skating, taking his technical freestyle tricks to ledges, stairs and rails. Plan B was formed after the founder, Mike Ternasky, who formerly managed skate company H-street, became disillusioned with the skate industry and the skate teams around the time. Ternasky wanted to create a skateboarding “dream team†consisting of some of the best skaters of the time. During its formation in 1991, the Plan B team included Danny Way, Colin Mckay, Rodney Mullen, Rick Howard, Matt Hensley and Mike Carroll. Unfortunately in 1994 Mike Ternasky passed away in a car crash, and in 1998 the company was shelved after the remaining owners drifted apart. Just over a decade later in 2005, Plan B was reformed, re recruiting most of the original team and also adding Paul Rodriguez and PJ Ladd to the roster. Today Plan Bâ€TMs pro team includes Ryan Sheckler, PJ Ladd Torey Pudwill, Pat Duffy, Colin Mckay, Danny Way, Felipe Gustavo and most recently Chris Cole. Plan Bâ€TMs Black Ice series has a “slick bottom†board construction, which helps it to slide across objects. Black Ice boards are also lighter than standard 7-Ply construction boards, and stiffer. Great for long, steezy tailslides. The Plan B decks we stock are available either as completes or as individual decks. If you would like any further information about decks then check out our deck buyers guide or contact a member of our team.
