I bought this for my eleven year old daughter for an elementary school graduation present. She has had an interest in Paris lately and I thought this would be a good present. This is her first time putting together one of these wood - or similar foam board -- puzzles or models.She was able to complete it with a little help. I have done numerous foam puzzles and one wood one, and they can be a bit tricky. Instructions are pretty good, but require attention to detail and a few times she had to reverse course a bit. But when she finished it it was an impressive piece that looks much more impressive that what you think you might get for the price. Also, I think she appreciated the challenge and had a sense of accomplishment when she finished.The wood is thick and has a quality feel to it. The pieces generally go in well save a few pieces that needed to be sanded down slightly. No glue is needed, however, I would have some super glue around to secure some pieces for convenience. Can be assembled in a few hours.The one thing I though was odd is it did not come with a power cord. The model has a female usb c plug connection ready to accept a cord. I had a usb c to standard usb cord laying around in my old cord bin which worked when plugged into an old wall charger that accepted standard usb fitting. However, it was short and I needed to buy a longer cord so that my daughter could place it where she wanted. The lights on this are very nice but I can't imagine them needed more power than a large disc battery like the ones you have in a key fob. That may have been easier then this setup. But I digress.Impressive model, looks great, and fun to assemble with your kid. Would recommend.

My boyfriend (84) and I (73) did this over a couple of days. For something as large as it is, it takes some pressure to get these tiny pieces to snap together. It was a challenge working with all the tiny pieces. I had it partway built and had to take it apart because I didn’t understand about the lights. It said to pay attention to the light beading but I didn’t understand that the lights need to face the inside of the tower. I changed that, checked the lights they seem to work and then we finished putting it together. It did not light at first, but then came on. Some of the people say theirs have three modes of lighting, ours did not.

I had a ton of fun building this, and the instructions made it pretty easy. It’s surprisingly compact, so it tucks easily anywhere to light up a corner. One thing they don’t specify is that you really must use glue or you’ll end up with a fragile and rickety piece.
