Rotolight NEO 2 LED Camera Light - 3 Light Kit, Continuous Adjustable Color with Built in High-Speed Sync Flash

It's a beautiful case and the items came perfectly in their place. The problems are putting it back after using the lights. it is almost impossible to put the power adaptors back in the very very tight slots. There are plenty of room in the case to make life easier when putting the power cables away.

I bought the NEO 2 kit for my business. I have followed the Rotolight brand for the last few years, and decided this kit was in budget (finally!)I have been a strobist for decades, but since switching to the new Canon mirrorless system, and finding myself adding a lot of video in our package offerings, this could be a very useful tool.We have other “constant” video lights for on camera use, but none of them equal the power output of the NEO 2’s. I’ve read complaints of these lights not having enough power output… but I have not ran into that issue yet… I purchased the kit about a month ago, and so far have used it on 4 weddings, and several branding, lifestyle and commercial shoots. For what we are using them for, they are ALMOST perfect!I say ALMOST, because there are some small issues..First off, we do use the colored gels that were supplied with the kit. While we appreciate that they are included, the way they attach is a total pain and not a good design at all. There is a clear plastic cover that is supposed to lock in, or “trap” the gel between the Rotolight and the cover. Let me tell you, is does not lock at all. The slightest bump will send it flying off and your gel along with it! I know they have done away with it on the NEO 3, and have really upped the game.The second issue is battery life.I’ve tried standard batteries, and have now gone with the rechargeable batteries that they recommend. The higher power of the rechargeable batteries are better for.. but overall, short lived. I know you can get a battery pack with a D-tap cable and get the output up even higher, especially for the strobe mode… but overall these are power hogs! I will also note, we are not generally running these at full power. Sometimes as low as 1%! Usually around50%-80%.Overall, I’m pleased with these lights. The size and quality of light really play into that. I find myself using these in ways my old speed lights or studio strobes were never able to do.I will be purchasing more of the Rotolight brand of lights in the very near future… more specifically the Aeos II AND Neo III.
