Great kit, quality components, creative design, fun
Bought in Sept 2024, finally had my 7yo work on it June 2025. This kept her busy for a couple hours but she did lose momentum. Definitely doable for a 7 years old. I probably should have had her finish it another day instead of jumping in to help. (She has a tendency to drag her feet if a project takes too long.) Anyhow, she did help finish when she saw it come together. Still having loads of fun playing pinball a week later. I enjoy sitting down and playing too.Excellent quality, great colors, creative execution, lots of spare components. Highly recommend. Going to buy this kit again for birthdays.

Perfect STEM gift
Number one, there are LOTS of pieces to this kit. If your gift recipient has a penchant for putting things together and has a reasonable attention span, this gift is perfect. Having said that, it's probably not something you will get put together in one afternoon unless you have a very long attention span, but the instructions are very clear and it is well put together. I purchased this for my 9-year-old granddaughter and her dad to put together, and they had a lot of good quality time doing it. I hope they have lots of fun challenging each other to a game of pinball. It's a great gift to spur your child's creative side and encourage a budding engineer.

Pleasantly surprised this was a really great toy
I got this for my 11 year old son's birthday - he put it together all by himself (took maybe 2 hours) and had a lot of fun building it. The best part - is that he and his (older) sister has been playing it/keeping score and having a lot of fun with it after it was built. To be honest, I was a little skeptical because sometimes these things look cooler than they actually are - but it really was a great STEM toy/gift!

A fun build-it-yourself pinball game!
This was a really fun building activity and is a neat little pinball game! My 8 year old enjoyed building it with the instructions, and the rubber band locking concept made it easy to assemble. It did take us a few hours over several days to build it! He loves the little "launchers" that blast off when the ball hits them. Very fun! I hope this company creates more games in the future.

plan time to assemble, then your kid won’t want to put it down!
Definitely a favorite Christmas gift. It is suprisingly sturdy and functional for a DIY! So that end result- great. Well thought out and fun to play!Read on for assembly experience: I got it for a 5 year old who has been enamored with pinball machines and I couldn’t find one! I don’t think he would have been happy opening the gift as it came—a box with beautiful picture of a pinball machine with a bunch of “stuff” inside….un-assembled. He’d want that thing in the picture RIGHT NOW! could be tough for younger kids. So we opened it the night before it was to be given as gift. We were fortunate to have an uncle (age 45) who loves to put stuff together. He spent 2 or 3 hours assembling it (while we sang “we are santas elves” from Rudolph). Had a whole table to lay everything out..recommend planning space. and, again— he LIKES to make stuff so we didnt deal with any frustration. The wood looked like cardboard at first but it is remarkably sturdy and right for this! The use of rubber bands— brilliant! Uncle elf Assembler said instruction booklet was phenomenal. Best instructions I ever saw with a toy! As far as the “child assembly with adult supervision” idea— I’d reverse that thought with the child “supervising”. Maybe an older kid (over 10?) with good attention span & patience could take part in assembly and potentially enjoy the process. A teen seemed interested and helped —for maybe 15 min. Perhaps an excited gift recipient (with patience), would get into it more. I think it would be alot for a younger kid to get involved with assembly. If you want it for the end result (working pin ball machine) and want to minimize adult—kid frustration, I’d suggest:—plan for 3 hours and assemble it ahead of time.—then wrap up the box with all the remnants of punch out parts too — so they can see what a gift it is to receive it assembled!!The gift recipient parents were VERY appreciative of that part!End result was worth it— a nice table top pinball machine which the younger kiddo loved (after some guidance on how to use the flippers WHILE holding the thing in place on table). Learning curve. I’d say a 4 year old on up would love it fully assembled.I don’t write reviews— (I am sure this is too long!) but wanted to share our experience because I really studied reviews before purchase. As others noted—It could be a “project” gift for kid/adult pair who like to put stuff together . But, if you don’t have that think about having someone to assemble ahead of gift giving day!

What fun! And a great time assembling with my grandson.
What fun! My ten year old grandson is having a blast with this pinball machine. My wife and I enjoyed playing it what little we were allowed. Once each. My grandson and I assembled it together. I am and electrical engineer and he is predisposed to this sort of thing. He probably could have put it together himself. It only took us approximately two hours to assemble it. I read the instructions and guided him through the assembly which he did mostly himself. My goal was to have something that I could do with him and this definitely was quality time together. The instructions were mostly good. There were a couple of steps I thought were missing but we easily figured it out. Overall the instructions were very thorough. I can see where some people in reading other reviews may have had trouble assembling this pinball machine because their talents lie elsewhere but the instructions are rather good. Kudo's to the designers and makers of this toy. It is ingenious.I can't say that it has been educational since he wanted to just play it. I'll have to see if I can discuss the science behind the levers, rubberbands, gravity and such at a later time after the thrill subsides a bit. The size is good for what it is. It seems very sturdy. It is one of the few toys I have seen fastened with rubber bands and it seems to work. We will see how durable this is.
