What a waste!
I paid over 8 dollars for the equivalent of two handfuls of nuts. I did not realize that it was only two ounces when I purchased it. I would never pay so much for so little.

An expensive way to buy walnuts.
There are reasonably fresh, and have good enough flavor for use in most baking, but I have to wonder about the size of the package. Seriously, who buys walnuts a half a cup at a time? The cheapest price I found for this package was $1.88 (Walmart on line) which works out to $30/pound. That's more than pine nuts cost. (Some outlets charge as much as $2.40!) The big bag of walnuts in my photo cost me $6.63/pound. Looking around Amazon I see that you can get a one pound Fischer walnut halves and pieces for $7.34 as an add-on, or a two-pound bag for $19.83. Huh? A 30lb bag costs about what the two pound bag costs. If all you need is enough walnuts to make a pan of brownies, maybe the two-ounce package makes sense. Me, i buy a few pounds at a time and keep them in the freezer, where they'll last a very long time.

The FISHER Chef’s Naturals Walnut Chips Make the Most Awesome Brownies!
I literally leaped for joy when I received a display box containing twelve pouches of one-half cup servings of FISHER Chef's Naturals Walnut Chips. I'm famous for my brownies. People ask me what my secret is for making moist, delicious brownies. It isn't a secret. I always use the maximum number of jumbo-size eggs, as though I am making cake-like brownies (usually three); I always bake them for the minimum amount of time; and I always stir the batter until it flows like hot molten lava. I detest overbaked, hard-as-rock brownies; the only thing you can use them for is stoning someone. I prefer my brownies soft and moist. Adding nuts always make them softer, and nutritious, heart-healthy walnuts are great to add. These FISHER Chef's Naturals Walnut Chips make my brownies taste awesome. Everyone at work loves them. I initially bake them for my girlfriend, Tammy; she likes to put two scoops of Breyer's Very Creamy Vanilla ice cream over them after they've been warmed for ten to fifteen seconds in the microwave oven. I take leftover brownies to my coworkers who gobble them up. What makes my brownies so delicious? I've made brownies before that had walnuts. However, those walnuts were already in the box; they probably weren't as fresh and delicious as the FISHER Chef's Natural Walnut Chips. The expiration date can be found on the bottom of the cardboard display box: 11/11/2017. I'm sure they will be gone before then. I've already made three batches of brownies. I poured one bag into each brownie mix. I love the convenience of having the walnuts in one-half cup bags. The bags are easy to open. There is a notch at the top of each one and the words OPEN HERE to help one find it. So far, the brownie mixes that I have used are as follows: Duncan Hines Dark Chocolate Fudge Brownies, Pillsbury Chocolate Fudge, and Betty Crocker Delights Supreme Original. I used a 13" X 9" pan in each case. All of them made delicious brownies. I highly recommend the FISHER Chef's Naturals Walnut Chips.

Small 2 oz, 1/2 cup pkg of walnut chips (chips approx. 1/4" chips) Can be frozen. My review lists a few health benefits
I really like walnuts. I eat them as a snack, always put toasted walnuts in my oatmeal & on my waffles, love them in baked goods & salads too.(I toast walnuts in my microwave. I spread them out on a paper plate & microwave for about a minute)I usually store nuts in my refrigerator, but also store them in my deep freeze when I won't be using them right away. These walnuts are fresh & crisp, have good flavor & aren't bitter. This package is small. It contains 2 oz, about 1/2 cup of walnut chips. The chips are small, about 1/4", and suitable for baking, sprinkling on waffles, in oatmeal & etc.I really need to try the Parmesan Crisp recipe on the Product Page.Non-GMOBenefits:Improves heart functionLowers bad cholesterol (LDL), raises good cholesterol (HDL)Improves bone healthImproves metabolismContains antioxidantsHas anti-inflammatory propertiesImproves metabolic parameters in people with type 2 diabetesAn internet search will turn up more information on the benefits of walnuts.Be aware if you have herpes, you might want to avoid or limit walnuts - their high levels of arginine can deplete the amino acid lysine, which can trigger herpes recurrences.

Handy To Have Around, These Nuts Where A Hit In Our House
One thing that I find that is handy to have is chopped nuts. Making cookies, or even having a quick yogurt fruit bowl, it is always a nice feature to have some chopped nuts available when in a hurry.WHAT IS THIS PACKAGE LIKE?The bag is pretty small, as it only contains 1/2 cup (2oz) of chopped nuts. The bag is sealed but not vacuum sealed. The top is a tear open top which opens easily by tearing a corner off.WHAT ARE THESE NUTS LIKE?These nuts are chopped to a nice size. They tasted fresh and I did not encounter any shells or hard pieces. There were not any bitter pieces either.WHAT I USED THESE NUTS FORThese nuts were handy to use for yogurt and fruit. The family enjoyed using them as a quick way to add crunch to our yogurt and fruit bowls.THE BOTTOM LINEIf you find yourself in a hurry quite often, having a bag or two of these nuts handy will cut down on preparation time when making things that require chopped nuts. Yogurt, cakes, cookies, or other recipes would make use of these nuts nicely. They also are good right out of the bag as a snack.FIVE STARS for this nuts. I see nothing wrong with them and found them to be handy.
