Hot and Cold Ash Pan Box

This does keep the dust down to a minimum....holds a lot of ash...I took no notice of the measurements but is a little larger than I expected .Well galvanised so should not rust too quickly...The packaging could be improved, as there was a small dint to the corner, but not detrimental unless you are fussy.

Confused why Amazon asks me to rate sheerness & warmth on a metal box as I didn't buy to wear?! Also confused by low* reviews as they point to buyer, not item fault. I measured my ash pan before buying & don't intend to store a hot metal box on my carpet. I'm happy carrier does intended job. Initially thought little expensive for a thin formed metal sheet, so marked 1* down on sturdiness, 1* overall star as I couldn't give 4.5* - £20 would have been enough as think wiil need few tweaks; spot welded hinges/handles may need future bolts; main handle slotted into bored holes, would be better/or easily adapted if cut/nut threaded on as uses up 4 cm internal width if slotting ashpan inside; I slot in ashpan at hearth to empty into carrier in yard & leave to cool so can reuse pan & light fire sooner & not set fire to bin or cover house when wind catches me at back door - not sure why reviewers are dusting their house as I don't see this purposed to empty ashpan inside house (for burners, scoop easier, empty box daily?); my edges are folded over & sealed, don't see any spillage potential, corners at top are sharp; clip-on lid would stop wind flipping open, brick works fine; galvanized so shouldn't rust, easily dried/painted/stored when cool. Value/price comparable to alternatives; altered my opinion on price when considered time & effort I've spent cleaning after ash cloud blew through house when wind caught uncovered ash pan. If this fits your pan, purpose & storage surface, would recommend.

Having seen a few of this type of ash box on sale on Amazon, for a lower price with not so great reviews, mainly around quality issues. I decided to buy the more expensive version hoping to get a better quality product.I must admit I was disappointed when I received my order. The box arrived with a dent in it. It's not really surprising as the box it arrived in had very little packing. I know its only an ash box, but that's not the point. When you buy a product, you expect it to start life in a pristine condition.Also it would be great if the lid folded back flat, and secured in place, against the box, as trying to put a hot ash tray inside, without spilling ash can be fiddly

Bought this to replace our old rusty tippy. Great size, would suggest placing on the hearth when cleaning out the fire to put the Ash pan in. Will get hot, so do not place on carpet or flooring. Holds a good amount of Ash closes well. Ideal for transporting from inside to outside. Would recommend

If your looking for something to put your hot or cold ashes in, this does the job. Not the sturdiest ash pan in the world but so far so good. Expensive for a tin box though to be fair.

Nice product , had to bend handle inwards to stop it pulling loose

Bought this to replace my old ash pan seems good quality all fittings and hinges are riveted not spot welded.Which is a good signVery pleased with my purchase.Obviously only time will tell how long it will last.But my opinion should last many years.

Pretty useful and a good size. Can get plenty of ash in , but it's not too bulky by the fire. The metal is a little flimsy , but so far has stood up to the job and you don't want it too heavy to carry outside. Can hold around 6 or more Ash pans worth , so nice notbto have to remove and make a mess every time you need to empty the pan.
