Q: Ive read im suposed to add one of these to my crushed grapes for wine making, but after reading the other questions in worried it will just ruin it?

Q: Can I use Campden tablets for sterilising jars for jam making?

They are not for sterilising. If you want to sterilise jam jars clean with hot soapy water, rinse well and put in oven at 100 degrees for around 10 minutes.

Q: Hi can this tablets be used to clean water for beer brewing.

Yes. Use 1/2 a tablet into 20lters of water, and leave for 30 mins. They will not harm the yeast. Higher doses are used for wine and they only slow the lag time of yeast.

All good so far

I don’t like Wild yeasts etc affecting the brewing process for cider, and these have done the job so far. I recommend a full 36 hours before commercial yeast is added.

No weight measurement

1 crushed tablet per gallon of liquid you're brewing but some of the pills are snapped crushed and theres powder if it stated the weight per pill or gallon it would be easy to use everything and not be left with crumbled left over pills

Brilliant!

Wasn't sure about these however they are great! So easy to crush unlike my last well know brand. The crushed tablets/powder dissolve easily. Highly recommend them for brewing. 10/10
