Grandsons loved it
Bought for grandsons as they had been asking for some, trying to get how good or not the product is, was like getting blood from a stone, just get grunts and yes grandma it’s really good.

Great fun
We were very impressed with the product. It melts easily and it’s easy to transfer it into the mould using the syringe. My 10 year old son had a great time making a Lego figure out of gallium, he also poured it into different jelly moulds. It’s great fun.

Best deal out there
Gallium is gallium is gallium is gallium, and if it's 99.99% purity, then it's gallium! I've wanted to get hold of this stuff for quite a while, to blow the minds of various grand-children and grown up kids - i.e. Me! So I researched buying it on-line and this was the least expensive out there, and 50g is about right for various experiments, tricks, and demos (50g = 8.5cc, give or take). So it's gallium, but the price differential between suppliers is mad; one Fleabay quote: 5g for £8.95, and talking of metallurgy, they had the brass-neck to demand £3.40 shipping = 50g costs £92.90! Duh! and most quotes out there are often at least x 3. Before using this stuff, get on Wiki to research its properties, like don't let it set in a glass container (it expands x 3.1% upon solidifying), and keep it away from metals, which it will 'seep' into and degrade, so remove any rings before handling. And keep it away from nice clothes. There are no biological dangers, so that's a one-up on mercury. PS: I got it today, seven days after ordering, which is pretty good considering it came from China. Highly recommended. PPS: my sample melted OK, but it's now been in the freezer for two hours and is still liquid. Why? I intend to find out! Watch this space. PPPS: clearly one of the weird aspects of this material: some molten gallium left in the freezer (-16C) remained liquid, but another sample, left at 17C solidified in an hour. Can any physicist out there clear this up?

Ok but not quite what I was expecting.
Tiny amount for the money but quite difficult to get hold of so perhaps this is why. Doesn't melt in the hand as you might think, basically you need to put the small bottle in hot water to make it melt. Easy to pour and cools quickly after but again , doesn't really melt at just above room temperature which is what you'd expect. Did some experiments with it with some success but not as spectacular as some which you find on YouTube etc. Not convinced it's as pure as it states but still interesting to play with.

The quality of the gallium is fine, but beware
The quality of the gallium is fine, but beware, it's not really worth buying tbh, just watch a video of it instead. It's extremely messy, I put it into a glass bowl and even after putting boiling water beneath it the metal stays stuck to the glass so it's really hard to get most of it back in the tube. What you have to do to clean it up is get some aluminium foil and scrape it on the gallium which makes them react and it comes off easily, unfortunately this means you wont be getting that part of the gallium back though so you'd only be able to use it a few times and it takes some cleaning.

a lot of fun
I have a 7 year old friend who just loves science. I got this for him and he was over the moon! a lot of adult supervision needed and if it gets out onto work surfaces it does oxidise and cause a grey smudge over everything but well worth it for all the fun.
