Coal Tar 50 Grams by SALVE

I have suffered with quite an extensive amount of psoriasis for several years and have been using steroid applications during that time. I tried this product as it had good reviews and I wanted to get away from the steroid treatments as I felt they were having a detrimental affect on my overall health.I've been using this product for about a month so far, in conjunction with bathing with coal tar soap.. I have seen a slight reduction in the affected areas so far, but the the best thing I have found is how relieving it is and I feel that my overall health has improved due to the great reduction in the amount of steroids I've been subjecting myself to. So in a nutshell, so far, so good.I will definitely persevere with this ointment. I'm over 60 so I did enquire with my GP about the possibility of having it prescribed but no go on that, as I expected. The irony is even though this application isn't by any means cheap, it's still probably a lot cheaper than what I've previously been prescribed and paid nothing for.I will certainly keep using Cosalic and have just ordered my third 100gm pot.

I bought this salve (along with the soap from the same brand) for a family member who is having a bad Psoriasis flare up as they told me coal tar had worked for them in the past, and to be honest the steroid creams from the Dr on prescription had not worked. I got the smallest size to start with for them to test how effective it is. The scent is really nice, reminds me more of citrus with only a slight coal tar smell rather than a strong one, and the salve is a creamy white colour.It works great! there's such a big improvement in the skin, no more itching Psoriasis scales, it leaves the skin lovely and soft, and the angry red flare up is fading into smooth skin. There was a difference in how the skin felt after first use, an improvement in how it looks after only a few days. Now after using one jar you can barely see the marks from the Psoriasis even though it had been bad, and so I've just been asked to order another jar - a bigger one this time!It might seem a bit costly but it works so well it's absolutely worth it. I'd definitely recommend giving it a try along with the soap bar version, it really surprised me how good it is, and my relative is really happy with the results.

I bought this as I have a small patch of dry skin on my face.When applying the texture feels similar to Vicks vapour rub. It did soothe and stop the itch, but even after a week the dry patch is still there, I can’t see any visible improvement at all.I’ve now purchased a different product to clear it up.

Bought for someone else. The one I normally have is no longer on sale. This looks the same so should be okay

After spending over £500 on specialist consultations over a period of about 9 months and being given prescription only medication my skin seemed if anything angrier than ever and most definitely not improved. I decided to stop using what had been prescribed and try and do a bit more research regarding diet and alternative treatments. I remembered that my Dad had used coal tar shampoo for patches of psoriasis he had on his scalp so wondered if there was a coal tar cream. The mighty Amazon kicked in offering this and other creams. I can’t comment on the others but have to say that the almost immediate improvement in my skin has been absolutely amazing. My psoriasis has not gone but it is so much better. A nice big tub of cream for £12. Absolute bargain. Cannot recommend highly enough.

I decided to give this product a go after trying several different creams to treat psoriasis on my feet, and I'm really pleased with this. Unlike the others I tried, this coal tar continues to moisturise my feet days later and so only really needs to be applied after showering. Best of all, my feet look normal again and no longer itch. Highly recommended.

The media could not be loaded.  Does the job but impossible to wash out so psorasis flakes get stuck!(Even if I shampoo without water first)

This should really be described as petroleum jelly because that is what it is. It is a gritty and hard ‘set’ version of Vaseline. It appears not to absorb at all and stains your clothes or bedsheets.
