Not quite 8.5", otherwise they're great!
I previously purchased the vertical holders and was happy, but with this whole set I found each holder to be more like 8" instead of 8.5". Which is annoying since I had to cut all my announcements down .5" to make them fit, but not worth the hassle to return them.
