Size:1 Pound This popular flavored tea blend has its roots in 1830s Great Britain. As the legend goes, the British Prime Minister Earl Grey II had rescued the young son of a Chinese Mandarin from drowning (or the son of an Indian Rajah from a tiger, depending on who’s telling the story). The grateful father brought him a gift of blended Indian and Ceylon teas flavored with oil of bergamot, extracted from the rind of bergamot oranges. The bergamot orange is not orange! Its skin is green in color and it is rather shaped like a pear. Bergamot oranges are almost exclusively grown in Italy. Probably more than you needed to know about the essential flavoring that makes Earl Grey tea so special, but there it is! This tea is sold loose leaf, meaning it will not arrive packed in tea bags.

Tattle Tea Earl Grey Black Tea
I have been ordering this loose tea for years and keep returning to this tea despite continuing to try out other brands of Earl Grey. It is very flavorful with just the right amount of bergamot for my tastebuds. It appears a huge financial investment if the buyer is trying it out for the first time; but in my case it's perfect, and the two pound size lasts for a very long time.

From a caffeine addict
I drink about 6 cups of tea throughout my 10 hours at a call center everyday. I drink 2 before I go in. This is the kick in the rear I need. It smells amazing and tastes wonderful with a bit of condensed milk. Would recommend.Update-repurchased and it's still delicious

Love it, been buying this for a couple years ...
Love it, been buying this for a couple years now. Used to buy Peet's earl grey tea, but they (stupidly) changed their teas drastically and I want nothing to do with them anymore. This stuff is very aromatic and tastes fantastic. LOTS of bergamot oil in here, for sure. FYI, the decaf version is excellent as well. My pregnant wife loves it. We brew a pitcher (sometimes two) of iced tea every day with this stuff. HIghly recommend the Breville tea kettle that perfectly boils and steeps loose tea with a precision timer.

All that I wanted out of an Earl Grey
Just got the package today, and am currently drinking some. Great taste and remarkably cheap for this quantity - with the coupon it's only about $0.56 an ounce! Having previously bought Tattle Tea's Sencha, I continue to be impressed by the brand's value and quality, and will undoubtedly buy more from them in the future. For comparison: I find Adagio.com's Earl Grey to be more expensively priced (about 2x as much money for the same amount of tea) while tasting similarly excellent. Adagio takes the extra step of adding orange peels and cornflowers in its bags, but I don't think that's much of a justification.

Very good tea, fantastic value!
Fantastic value for a well above average Earl Grey tea. The leaves are reasonably good-sized and relatively intact; the bergamot is pronounced but settles nicely upon brewing. For reference, I brew my tea in an IngenuiTea (from Adagio) using water heated (by a hot water dispenser) to 195F, then let steep for anywhere between 3 and 15 minutes (3-4 when I remember, 10-15 when I forget!). After going through about a pound of Tattle Tea Earl Grey so far, I can honestly say that I've yet to experience any bitterness or off-flavors (even when I oversteep), and will most definitely be re-ordering more. Very tasty both hot and on ice.

I drink tea every day and was hoping to get ...
I drink tea every day and was hoping to get a quality tea with a strong bergamot flavor. I thought the tea was low quality with strong artificial flavoring. I actually gave the bag away.

i give it a c - for flavor
Ist time tried this brand. Usually do coffebean direct. I prefer coffebean direct earl grey , tastes better. Arrived on time, nice packaging. Maybe if it gets a little older it might taste better. I got 2 lbs of it. Oh well
